Connor Storrie Scores Emmy Nod + Rest Well Bonnie Tyler + More

Gayety: Connor Storrie (above), who became a breakout star thanks to the queer hockey drama Heated Rivalry, is celebrating his first-ever Emmy nomination – for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series after hosting Saturday Night Live earlier this year.

Pink News: A gay teacher and an LGBTQ-ally parent were awarded over $1million in damages after juries found a Virginia political action committee and its leader had falsely and maliciously linked the two to a “child abduction ring” and other illegal actions involving children.

BBC: Rest well Bonnie Tyler, who reportedly died suddenly of an undisclosed illness she was being treated for in Portugal. She was 75. Her massive hit “Total Eclipse of the Heart” was my first ‘break-up’ song and is eternally etched into my DNA.

Texas Tribune: Hundreds of people rallied in Houston where a 52-year-old man was shot by an ICE agent during an unspecified “targeted enforcement operation.” ICE says the man drove towards the agent, but witnesses say the agent fired at them almost immediately after exiting his vehicle and that at no point did the man drive in his direction.

CNN: The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting pool is being drained again in another attempt to fix the landmark. Meanwhile, three more people have been arrested on “vandalism” charges.
