Graham: Trump Isn’t Responsible For What Happens In Iran After Killing Its Leader

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) told “Meet The Press” host Kristen Welker it’s not the job of the U.S. or Donald Trump to pick Iran’s next leader and that the U.S. should not put boots on the ground after Iran’s supreme leader was killed in joint U.S.-Israeli strikes.

LINDSEY GRAHAM: Our goal is to make sure Iran cannot become again the largest state sponsor of terrorism.

WELKER: Does the the president have a plan to guarantee that happens?

GRAHAM: No. It’s not his job.

When asked if the U.S. is at war with Iran, Graham replied, “I think the Ayatollah would say yeah.”

The Republican senator has been a top supporter of the president’s decision to strike Iran.
