Two-time Out Music Award winner Matt Zarley has just released his joyful take on the uplifting holiday song, “Merry Christmas with Love.”
The pop/holiday tune pairs perfectly with Zarley’s soaring vocals.
The lyrics tell the story of an older woman who is alone for the holidays and melancholy for Christmases past, when a group of carolers comes to cheer her up by singing, “Merry Christmas with love.” She embraces them and joins in at the end.
The song was first recorded by Sandi Patty for her 1983 Christmas album The Gift Goes On. and subsequently covered by American Idol alum Clay Aiken for his 2004 Christmas album.
