A deep dive by The Daily Mail into lowered recruitment standards by Immigration and Customs Enforcement found new ICE applicants who can “barely read or write” as well as those who lack basic physical fitness and even have pending criminal charges.
From The Daily Mail:
“We have people failing open-book tests and we have folks that can barely read or write English,” one DHS official told the Daily Mail. “We even had a 469-lb man sent to the academy whose own doctor certified him not at all fit for any physical activity.”
Insiders say the vetting process has been so rushed that officials didn’t even wait for drug test results to come back before hiring recruits and flying them off to Georgia, only to discover afterward that tests came back positive.
In one shocking incident, they were left shaking their heads when one student asked to be excused from class so he could attend a court date on a gun charge.
Other recruits were even discovered to have tattoos associated with gangs and white supremacists when they stripped off their shirts during workouts.
The Daily Mail also debunked Homeland Security Sec. Kristi Noem’s claim that the department received over 175,000 applications.
A large number of those ‘applicants’ were suspected to be AI bots and pranksters, providing addresses such as ‘123 Sesame Street’ and their job experience as ‘f**king your mother.’
