FOX Host Apologizes After Suggesting Executing Homeless People

On the morning of September 10, the hosts of Fox & Friends were discussing crime and homelessness, when host Brian Kilmeade offered his solution to America’s homeless population:

“Involuntary lethal injection, or something. Just kill them.”

Co-host Lawrence Jones replied with, “Yeah.”

Four days later, Kilmeade offered this tepid “apology” this morning:

“We were discussing the murder of Iryna Zarutska in Charlotte, North Carolina and how to stop these kinds of attacks by homeless, mentally ill assailants, including institutionalizing or jailing such people so they cannot attack again.

“Now during that discussion, I wrongly said they should get lethal injections. I apologize for that extremely callous remark.

“I am obviously aware that not all mentally ill, homeless people act as the perpetrator did in North Carolina, and that so many homeless people deserve our empathy and compassion.”

In contrast, earlier this week political analyst Matthew Dowd was immediately fired by MSNBC for saying slain far-right activist Charlie Kirk had been a divisive and polarizing figure, adding, “hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which ultimately lead to hateful actions.”
