Some news items you might have missed:
• NPR: Donald Trump says that Ukrainian President Zelenskyy and Russian President Putin have agreed to meet face-to-face following today’s summit between Trump, Zelenskyy and a delegation of Europe’s top leaders (lead photo).
• The Advocate: George M. Johnson, the author of one of the most-banned books in America – All Boys Aren’t Blue, refuses to be silenced.
• The Hill: California Democrats unveiled their redistricting proposal that could flip 5 GOP-held seat to their column. “Unlike the Republicans in Texas, we’re not just doing this in secret. We are going to put it to [the voters] to decide.”
• Gallup Polling: A new low of just 53% of Americans express confidence in the federal government’s regulation of food safety. That marks a sharp decline from 2019 when 68% were confident.
• Axios: Hamas has agreed to a 60-day ceasefire proposal with Israel that includes the return of half the hostages held in Gaza and Israel’s release of some Palestinian prisoners.
