Some news items you might have missed:
• YouTube: I recently came across this clever 12-minute edit of the 2015 movie “Fourth Man Out,” which follows a car mechanic in a small, working class town who comes out of the closet to his unsuspecting, blue-collar best friends. I really found the quick pace of this edit captures the spirit of the film in a wonderful way. Full movie currently available for free on Pluto.
• The Advocate: A judge in Florida has sided with authors and publishers in a lawsuit against the state’s book ban – which targets many LGBTQ titles – determining that the law violates free speech protections.
• Boy Culture: Today is Madonna’s birthday. The queen of pop turns 67.
• Outsports: Some NFL fans are outraged over the Minnesota Vikings adding two male cheerleaders to their squad, but they’re not even the first! In fact, a number of famous men—including four U.S. presidents—were once cheerleaders, too.
• Reuters: Donald Trump said that Ukraine should make a deal to end the war with Russia because ‘Russia is a very big power, and they’re not,’ after Friday’s summit where President Putin was reported to have demanded more Ukrainian land.
