Prime Minister To Trump: ‘Canada Is Not For Sale’

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney met with Donald Trump at the White House today where Trump couldn’t stop himself from repeating his want to annex Canada as “the 51st state.” Carney was the picture of patience and poise as he listened to Trump’s unhinged desire to establish sovereignty over Canada. Carney told Trump during their Oval Office meeting that Canada “is not for sale,” nor will it be. “Never say never,” Trump responded, to which Carney repeatedly said: “Never.”

Carney was elected Prime Minister thanks in great part thanks to Trump’s absurd suggestion. During the country’s recent election, Carney repeatedly rejected the notion that Canada could become part of the U.S. The Prime Minister told reporters he privately asked Trump to stop referring to the country as “the 51st U.S. state” after their meeting Tuesday.
