Orville Peck And ‘Friends Of Dorothy’ + Another Anti-Trans Bill In TX + More

Some news items I thought worth your time: • Salon: A proposed Texas state law would make identifying as transgender a felony calling it “identity fraud.” • OUT: Orville Peck, the masked gay country singer, and The Wiggles, the Australian children’s music group, have teamed up for a new country song that celebrates the queer community and nods to viewers who are in the know – “Friends of Dorothy.” Kenneth-in-the-212: If you like tennis, Kenneth has all the ATP beef that’s fit to feature in his weekend round-up. • ABC News: LA District Attorney Nathan Hochman is asking the court to withdraw the previous district attorney’s motion for resentencing for Lyle and Erik Menendez, calling the brothers’ claims of self-defense part of a litany of “lies.” Reuters: Tesla’s stock has dropped by nearly half in three months, erasing most of the gains the stock made after CEO Musk helped finance the reelection Donald Trump. • Fox News: And speaking of the stock market, the Dow Jones plunged nearly 900 points today triggered by Donald Trump’s refusal to rule out the possibility of a recession thanks to his on-again/off-again tariffs. The market has pretty much erased all gains since last November.
