Texas Measles Outbreak Continues To Spread Among Unvaccinated

Forty-eight cases of measles have been identified in Texas, sending 13 patients to the hospital, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services. The number of cases has doubled over the past three days. If only there were some way to protect children from the virus… Measles outbreak continues to spread in Texas among unvaccinated The majority of the cases are in Gaines County, but cases have also been found in Lynn, Terry and Yoakum County. All of the cases have been among people who are either unvaccinated or their vaccination status is unknown. Due to the highly contagious nature of measles, more cases are expected. The virus is transmitted through direct contact with infectious droplets or by airborne spread when an infected person breathes, coughs, or sneezes.
