Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) announced today that transgender women are not permitted to single-sex bathrooms in the Capitol that match their gender identity, taking a stance on the hot-button issue that has overtaken the Capitol in recent days.
House Speaker Mike Johnson said transgender women cannot use women’s restrooms in the Capitol and House office buildings. This also applies to changing rooms and locker rooms, Johnson said. https://t.co/b4pEmnac1O pic.twitter.com/n8Li5IfhqN

From Speaker Johnson:
“All single-sex facilities in the Capitol and House Office Buildings – such as restrooms, changing rooms, and locker rooms — are reserved for individuals of that biological sex.
“It is important to note that each Member office has its own private restroom, and unisex restrooms are available throughout the Capitol.
“Women deserve women’s only spaces.”
Speaker Johnson vowed to “accommodate the needs of every single person” as Republican woman push to ban transgender women from Capitol women’s bathrooms.

Johnson makes no mention of how he intends to enforce the policy. A reminder that Trans women have been using women’s restrooms for many years and this policy only came about due to Sarah McBride becoming the first Trans person to win a seat in Congress. This was Johnson yesterday saying addressing the issue:
