Donald Trump has announced environmental attorney and anti-vaxxer Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as his nominee for Secretary of Health and Human Services. Kennedy has promoted many controversial health-related conspiracy theories:
• Claims vaccines cause autism, despite extensive debunking.
• Suggests COVID-19 vaccines are unsafe, countered by strong data proving efficacy.
• Believes Bill Gates wants to use vaccines to implant microchips.
• Warns 5G networks cause cancer, with no supporting evidence.
• Questions if HIV causes AIDS, contrary to established science.
• Argues COVID-19 measures are tools for population control.
Experts view these as misinformation that undermines public trust in health science. Toss this on the growing pile of controversial nominees whose confirmation process will test the loyalty of Senate Republicans.
Putting RFK Jr. in charge of America’s health is beyond reckless — it’s deadly. His conspiratorial pseudoscience would dismantle decades of public health progress and put lives at risk. https://t.co/XpPmKdKjf8
