Today, on National Coming Out Day, Trans Lifeline is launching a new platform called Hey! I’m Trans, which hopes to make it a little bit easier for anyone who is transgender to come out to their friends, family, co-workers, and of course, the online world. Via press release:
The idea for Hey! I’m Trans was inspired by the real-life experience of Maddi. She knew she was trans but didn’t know how to tell everyone else.
She turned to the internet, but it was information overload. Enter Maddi’s new boss, Chris, who as luck would have it, came out in the mid-90s.
Maddi told him, and he became her guide throughout her coming out process. That got Maddi thinking…Wouldn’t it be cool if everyone coming out could have a Chris?
Cloning sounded hard. So she thought of something else: a simple, fun platform designed to help people come out to the different groups in their lives.
