Jim Jordan Threatens Hunter Biden For Defying Subpoena After Jordan Himself Defied Congressional Subpoena

Of all people, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) appeared to threaten Hunter Biden with a contempt of Congress charge shortly after the president’s son showed up for a deposition this morning but insisted on the deposition being held open to the public, rather than behind closed doors. “We’re disappointed that he [Hunter] didn’t show up. I mean, he was just across the way at the Capitol. You think he could come here and sit for questions,” said Jordan, who rejected Biden’s call for a public hearing rather than a private question-and-answer session. When asked if he would move for contempt charges against Biden, Jordan somehow managed to say with a straight face: “We will move in that direction, but look – when Congress asks you to come, you’re supposed to come and testify.” https://twitter.com/DailyCaller/status/1734959849392288088 The hypocrisy here is that Jordan himself defied a Congressional subpoena last year when asked to testify and provide documents to the House committee investigating the violent January 6 invasion of the U.S. Capitol building. He was unanimously referred to the bipartisan House Ethics Committee on Monday for refusing to do so. “And I’m here today to acknowledge that I have made mistakes in my life and wasted opportunities and privileges I was afforded. For that I am responsible.”

Hunter Biden’s lawyers have told the House Republicans on the Oversight and Judiciary committees that he’s willing to testify by the December 13 deadline – but only if he can do so publicly. House Republicans are insisting they want to talk to him behind closed doors first.
