No, Donald Trump, There’s No Voter Fraud In Texas

Republican Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he’s hearing about rampant voter fraud at the polls in Texas.

In the end, it turns out one voter didn’t know how to review their own ballot.

Even the Tarrant County Republican chairman didn’t buy into the Trumpster’s hyperbole.

From Politico:

According to Snopes, “Reports are not flooding in from across Texas about vote switching.”

“Although rumors of ‘vote switching’ in Texas are rampant, we found only one case in which a report was investigated, and it was found to be unsubstantiated,” the rumor researching website said.

The Republican presidential nominee is likely referring to an allegation from a woman who posted on Facebook this week that she voted for Republicans up and down the ballot, though the summary of her votes showed that the Hillary Clinton-Tim Kaine ticket was checked, too.

“I tried to go back and change and could not get it to work,” the woman, who voted in Texas, said. “I asked for help from one of the workers and she couldn’t get it to go back either. It took a second election person to get the machine to where I could correct the vote to a straight ticket.”

The woman urged voters to “double check your selections before you cast your vote!”

According to election officials, however, the problem was likely a “voter error,” not a sign of election rigging.

Tim O’Hare, chair of the Tarrant County Republican Party, told a local CBS affiliate that voters are inadvertently changing their votes by incorrectly turning the machine’s wheel to change the page.

“We don’t think there’s fraud inside the machine or software glitches,” he said.

Donald Trump Says If He Loses Election, It Will Be Because Of “Rigged System”

Donald Trump, trailing in the polls and suffering over statements about fallen soldiers’ families, is laying the groundwork for a loss come November.

And get ready – it won’t be his fault. Why? Because obviously the “system is rigged.”

From the Wall Street Journal:

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on Monday cast doubt on the legitimacy of the November general election, expanding on his long-running theme that the political process is stacked against him.

“I’m afraid the election is going to be rigged, I have to be honest,” Mr. Trump told a rally in Columbus, Ohio.

Mr. Trump spent months during the Republican primary contest arguing that the complex system of accruing delegates was “rigged” against him, despite his series of victories in primaries and caucuses.

Even with practically every poll showing Democrat Hillary Clinton leading, of course the only reason he would lose would be due to funny business.

Long-time adviser Roger Stone has also begun pushing the “rigged system” line.

On a recent podcast, Stone said, “If there’s voter fraud, this election will be illegitimate, the election of the winner will be illegitimate, we will have a constitutional crisis, widespread civil disobedience, and the government will no longer be the government.”

As has been documented over and over, voter fraud is so very rare it doesn’t register in studies.

Weak argument, Donald. Sad.

Voter Fraud: Nevada College Republicans Urge Republicans Participate In Both Party Caucuses

College Republicans at the University of Nevada Reno have circulated a letter suggesting members caucus both at the Democratic Caucus Saturday and Tuesday’s Republican Caucus.

Here’s the game: Since the Republicans closed their registration rolls on Feb. 13, that’s the file that will be used on Feb. 23. Therefore, a Republican could show up at a Democratic caucus site on Saturday, switch to the Democratic Party, vote and then still participate on Tuesday because the party switch would not show up on the GOP caucus rolls.

This from the party that constantly screams “Voter Fraud!” all the time. It’s comical.

The head of the Nevada Democratic Party is not having it.

From The Hill:

“After reviewing Nevada law, we believe that registering under false pretenses in order to participate in the Democratic caucuses for purposes of manipulating the presidential nominating process is a felony,” Nevada Democratic Chairwoman Roberta Lange said in a statement.

“The Nevada State Democratic Party will work with law enforcement to prosecute anyone who falsely registers as a Democrat to caucus tomorrow and subsequently participates in the Republican caucuses on Tuesday.”

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) also lashed out at the “scheme,” calling the tactics “disgraceful.”

“These Republican plans to interfere with the integrity of Nevada’s Democratic caucuses are shameful and immoral,” Reid said in a statement. “Rather than letting voters decide and allowing our democratic system to work, Republicans are resorting to trickery and gimmicks in an attempt to subvert the will of the people. The Republican Party has long decried voter fraud, but with this latest scheme they are now encouraging it.”

“The American people deserve a fair voting process, and I will do everything in my power to ensure that these disgraceful Republican tactics do not interfere with the voice of Nevada voters.”
