When police responded to Venture-N, a longtime gay bar in Tuscon, Arizona, around 12:30 a.m. local time Monday, officers found Anthony Siqueiros, 42, and Cameron Davis Capara, 33, dead from gunshot wounds.
Suspected gunman Ousman Ceesay, 44, died later at a hospital from what appeared to be self-inflicted wounds. Authorities have called the shooting a hate crime.
A note found on Ceesay the night of the shooting listed several additional LGBTQ-friendly businesses in the area. The discovery turned the double killing into evidence that the violence may have been intended to continue across the city’s queer gathering places.
