Apparently, Congressman Todd Akin agreed to appear on Piers Morgan’s show to talk about his recent comment about “legitimate rape” victims bodies being able to magically “shut down” pregnancy. And then, it seems Akin cancelled at the last minute.
So Piers decided to make a statement and speak to and about the empty chair Akin was scheduled to be in.
In desperation, Rep. Akin instead released this :30 “campaign ad” asking for forgiveness.
From the President: “Rape is rape. And the idea that we should be parsing and qualifying and slicing what types of rape we’re talking about doesn’t make sense to the American people and doesn’t make sense to me. What I think these comments do underscore is why we shouldn’t have a bunch of politicians – the majority of whom are men – making decisions about women’s health.”
