Serena Williams passes fellow Americans Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova on the all-time majors list by defeating Maria Sharapova in the Australian Open 6-3, 7-6.
The victory marks Serena’s 19th major Grand Slam win. She trails only Steffi Graf now, who notched 22 Grand Slams during her career.

This ties Serena with Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova for fourth on the all-time list of Grand Slam winners, behind Margaret Court (24), Steffi Graf (22) and Helen Wills Moody (19).
