TMZ is reporting that pop star Britney Spears has been admitted to a mental health facility.
The gossip site shares that Spears has been anxious and distraught over her dad’s illness, which is apparently becoming more complicated and not improving.
Jamie Spears ruptured his colon last year and has undergone two surgeries to address continuing complications.
Spears announced in early January that her Las Vegas residency at Park MGM was being postponed in order for her to focus on her father.
This morning, Spears posted to her Instagram account an image with the phrase, “Fall in love with taking care of yourself, mind, body, spirit.”
The caption for the post read, “We all need to take a little time for a little ‘me time.'”
According to TMZ, Spears checked herself into a mental health facility “about a week ago where she will live for 30 days.”
In Touch Weekly reports that Josh Duggar is entering rehab for addiction. According to the In Touch source, Duggar’s primary issue is sex addiction.
Shortly after In Touch broke the news, his family posted the following message on their website:
“We are so thankful for the outpouring of love, care and prayers for our family during this most difficult situation with Josh.
“As parents we are so deeply grieved by our son’s decisions and actions. His wrong choices have deeply hurt his precious wife and children and have negatively affected so many others. He has also brought great insult to the values and faith we hold dear.
“Yesterday Josh checked himself into a long-term treatment center. For him it will be a long journey toward wholeness and recovery. We pray that in this he comes to complete repentance and sincere change.
“In the meantime, we will be offering our love, care and devoted support to Anna and our grandchildren as she also receives counsel and help for her own heart and future. During this time we continue to look to God—He is our rock and comfort.
“We ask for your continued prayers for our entire family.”
E! is reporting that Liza Minnelli has entered rehab to deal with substance abuse issues.
“Liza Minnelli has valiantly battled substance abuse over the years and whenever she has needed to seek treatment she has done so,” the Oscar-winning star’s rep Scott Gorenstein tells E! News. “She is currently making excellent progress at an undisclosed facility.”
According to TMZ, who first reported the story, Minnelli’s main health issue is connected to alcohol.
Liza has battled addiction for years, most notably checking into the Betty Ford Clinic during the 1980s.
Addressing the issue with The Guardian, Minnelli said “My whole life, this disease has been rampant. I inherited it, and it’s been horrendous, but I have always asked for help.”
Minnelli’s mother, Judy Garland, famously died of an accidental overdose in 1969.
I’ve met Liza, and she’s a doll. And, of course, one of our great treasures of the performing arts.
Thinking best thoughts her way.
Following what was clearly not his best weekend, Shia LaBeouf has apparently checked into rehab in Los Angeles, according to X17.
LaBeouf made headlines this past weekend for his disorderly conduct at a performance of Cabaret on Broadway.
Labeouf was acting erratically and being abusive to other audience members until he was forcibly removed by the police and arrested.
Now it appears he’s making moves to address some issues:
X17online can report, exclusively, that the troubled actor is getting help at a celebrity-frequented treatment facility in Hollywood.
We followed the actor from his Hollywood Hills home, just an hour ago, to a private facility where other stars have sought treatment — driven by someone believed to be from the rehab facility. When the car arrived at the gated drive to the center, a nurse and security guard were there to great Shia. In fact, earlier in the day when we spotted Shia in his driveway, we noticed his was carrying the Alcoholics Anonymous Big Blue Book.
Our photographer tells us: “Shia was nervous; he didn’t look good all morning. He was looking down and wasn’t even talking to his driver. It looked like he didn’t want to do it, but he knew he had to.”
Speaking out for the first time since news broke that he had completed a stint in rehab five months ago in an attempt to end his partying lifestyle, Zac Efron posted a photo on his Instagram page showing him high atop the Peruvian mountains, flanked by the famous ruins of Machu Picchu.
A healthy looking Zac Efron added this note:
“Hey
guys! Just returned from an incredible trip to Peru with my dad and
wanted to thank you all for your support these past few weeks…means
the world to me. Love you guys! – Z”
Oscar De La Hoya, former 10-time world title winner, has returned to rehab to address his substance abuse problem:
The former boxer issued a statement Tuesday saying he voluntarily admitted himself to an unnamed facility. The move comes on the eve of the biggest fight of the year for his promotion company Saturday night when Floyd Mayweather Jr. takes on Canelo Alvarez.
“I will not be at the fight this Saturday to cheer Canelo to victory since I have voluntarily admitted myself into a treatment facility,” De La Hoya said in his statement. “I explained this to Canelo and he understood that my health and long term recovery from my disease must come first.”
De La Hoya first admitted two years ago that he was an alcoholic and drug user and had been in treatment.
