Madonna Launches REBEL HEART World Tour In Montreal

While there were plenty of highlights at the premiere of Madonna’s new REBEL HEART World Tour Wednesday night, Madge continued to surprise when she earned a standing ovation for a lovely rendition of “La Vie en Rose,” singing en français.

Fans seem particularly excited that the Queen of Pop includes more than the usual number of early hits from her first two albums. Specifically, she sings “Material Girl” for the first time since her BLOND AMBITION Tour in 1990.

No Madonna concert would be complete without fabulous costumes and set pieces, and REBEL HEART Tour doesn’t disappoint. In addition to glitz and dramatic costumes, the audience is treated to nuns on stripper poles and a recreation of the Last Supper.

The tour is planned (for now) to work it’s way around the world and ultimately closing in Australia next March.

Check Madge’s charming “La Vie en Rose” below:

Howard Stern Interviews Madonna

Madonna sat down with Howard Stern for an extended (90 minutes!) interview regarding her new album, Rebel Heart.

This was her first ever interview with the radio legend. Over the course of an hour and a half, Madge talks on writing “Vogue” (in a couple of hours!), dating Tupac Shakur and her friendship with Michael Jackson.

She also shares that “Ghosttown” will be the next single from the album.

Madonna Announces Rebel Heart World Tour With A Sock

Madonna announced her new world tour in support of her upcoming album Rebel Heart today by speaking with a sock. #BitchYoureASock

See the sock bit below, plus the actual promo video. The tour will begin in Miami on August 29th, then tour the US before heading to Europe, Asia and Australia (her first concerts “down under” in 20 years).

Madge’s last tour for MDNA (2012) grossed over $300 million worldwide. Before that, her Sticky & Sweet tour (2008-2009) grossed $408 million, marking the biggest tour ever for a female artist.

To help promote the tour and new album, Live Nation announced Madonna will be the special musical guest on ELLEN the entire week of March 16-20.

Madonna On The Power Of Language, Sex And Miley Cyrus

In a new interview with Billboard, Madonna talks freely about a number of subjects – Kanye West, 50 Shades of Grey, regrets, the power of language and her views on (what else?) sex.

Working with Kanye West:

“Kanye, for instance, has excellent ideas, but it’s hard to get him to pay attention. So my job was to keep him focused. I was the mistress walking around with the clipboard going, ‘Guys, can you please — can you guys come back in the room? Let’s just finish the song. What do you mean you’re going to a photo shoot? What do you mean you have to go to a red carpet event? Get off your phone! Will you stop tweeting? Wait, we haven’t finished!’ “

On the idea of regrets:

Everyone has regrets. I have regrets for the smaller things, which ultimately are the bigger things in life. For instance, I regret not being more grateful certain times in my life. I regret not being more compassionate. I regret not saying I’m sorry. I don’t have any career regrets. I have human-being regrets.

On 50 Shades of Grey:

Yes, I have. It’s pulp fiction. It’s not very sexy, maybe for someone who has never had sex before. I kept waiting for something exciting and crazy to happen in that red room thing, and I was like, “Hmm, a lot of spanking.” I also thought, “This is so unrealistic because no guy goes down on a girl that much.” I’m sorry, but no one eats p—- as much as the guy in that book.

On Miley Cyrus:

I like her. She seems like she doesn’t care what people think. People are always telling her she’s dirty or crazy or trashy, and she doesn’t care. I love that about her. In her peer group, she stands out.

On possibly over-using the word “bitch” in her songs:

I think that’s bullshit. The word police can f— off. I don’t want to be policed! I’m not interested in political correctness. The word “bitch” means a lot of different things. Everything is about context. When I first moved to England and heard the word “c–t,” I was horrified. People were calling each other c–ts! And then I realized that, in that culture, it was different — they slapped each other on the back and said, “Who’s the c–t, right, you’re my best mate!” The word “f—” doesn’t just mean sexual intercourse. I mean, “You’re a stupid f—,” “Are you going to f— with me?” “F– off!” (Laughs.) Sex has nothing to do with any of those expressions, and the same goes for “bitch.” If I say to you, “I’m a badass bitch,” I’m owning myself, I’m saying, “I’m strong, I’m tough, and don’t mess with me.” If I say, “Why are you being such a bitch to me?,” well, that means something else.

Madonna’s new CD – Rebel Heart – has a release date of March 10th.

Madonna Turns Interview Into A Drinking Game

The Queen of Pop, Madonna, sits down with Australia’s Richard Wilkins for a chat about her upcoming album Rebel Heart.

BUT – there are rules in a Madonna interview and she makes them. Ask a stupid question and you have to take a shot of tequila. Ask a “rock her world” question and Madge takes a shot.

Seems to me there can be no losers here 🙂

I think she comes across smart, charming and funny.

Madonna On The Arrest Of Her “Rebel Heart” Hacker

“I am profoundly grateful to the FBI, the Israeli Police investigators and anyone else who helped lead to the arrest of this hacker.

“I deeply appreciate my fans who have provided us with pertinent information and continue to do so regarding leaks of my music.

“Like any citizen, I have the right to privacy. This invasion into my life – creatively, professionally, and personally remains a deeply devastating and hurtful experience, as it must be for all artists who are victims of this type of crime.” -Madonna via Facebook

Madonna Set To Perform At 2015 Grammy Awards

Seven-time Grammy Award winner and “Queen of Pop,” Madonna, has been announced as a live performer at this year’s Grammy Awards airing February 8th on CBS.

Via Billboard:

On Jan. 12, the Queen of Pop shared an image to her social media accounts of a Grammy Award wrapped in now-familiar black wire (as seen on the cover of her upcoming Rebel Heart album and many of her Instagram posts) with the caption: “Rebel Hearts see you Feb 8th @theGRAMMYs.” (The Grammy Awards’ official Twitter account re-Tweeted the news shortly afterwards.) Madonna first hinted at a Grammy Awards performance in a December interview with Billboard, saying that it was “possibly something that’s gonna happen.”

Madonna’s manager, Guy Oseary, confirmed to Billboard that the diva will indeed be performing on the show (Some may have wondered if Madonna’s vaguely-worded Tweet suggested that she was simply going to appear on the show, rather than perform).

This will be Madonna’s 5th performance for the Grammy Awards.

I’m guessing Madge will be performing “Living For Love,” the lead single from her upcoming Rebel Hearts album which will be released on March 10th.
