Funny (Not So Funny) Super-Cut Of Education Secretary Nominee Betsy DeVos’ “Defensive Smiling”

The Washington Post reports on the growing pushback on the nomination of billionaire Betsy DeVos for Secretary of Education.

Over 300 lawmakers from all 50 states have announced they oppose DeVos for the position, in great part because she has no experience in education.

Labor unions, civil rights leaders and advocates for children with disabilities have all joined the growing chorus of naysayers.

In addition to her lack of experience as an educator, she has no training or degrees in the area of education. She’s worked for years to undermine public schools in favor of a voucher system that would allow parents to take public school money and shift that to private, for-profit schools.

And, of course, we all know the millions she and her family have donated to anti-LGBT groups like the Family Research Council.

After her confirmation hearing, I noted that I found her disingenuous smile to be smug and grating. It looks like I wasn’t the only one.

Prepare to be utterly surprised – or not – at how far Trumpers will go in their quest to support their guy.

Clip description:

Pioneer Press Tweets Dick Joke About Aaron RodgersThen Deletes Tweet

In the above Tweet, newspaper Pioneer Press attempted to be clever about a story about Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who apparently tugs on the red beard of a fan at every home game for luck.

I’m guessing the sexual innuendo was a little too 6th grade for some readers.

Pioneer Press followed up with this tweet when called out:

Unconfirmed, gay rumors have been swirling around Rodgers for sometime. Last year, Rodgers told 540 ESPN Milwaukee, “I’m just going to say I’m not gay. I really, really like women. That’s all I can really say about that.”

Video: Think again if you want to prank someone

Fake video, but be prepared to be surprised.

Walmart: Costumes For All Occasions – Dead Dog Prop

Seriously?

I’m horrified. And not in some kind of fun, “Halloween” way.  This is supposedly an ad for a Halloween “dead dog” costume or prop.

Here’s the actual listing on Walmart’s website:

“You have seen bloody road kill, this is bloody road kill, Foam filled latex prop of a skinned dog with a large tire track squished through its mid torso, Chain attached for dragging purposes, Box Dimensions (in Inches), Length : 36, 00, Width : 21, 00, Height : 10, 00 SKU: MC740043”

Wow. One more reason to drive me and my consumer dollars away from Walmart.

UPDATE: The item’s url is no longer valid.  So either Walmart was hacked, or pressure to remove the either was applied.  Either way – good riddance to a bad joke/terrible idea.

Man has a total stranger’s Facebook pic tattooed on his butt

Joey Jordan came across an ongoing art project called Selfless Portraits.

The project encourages strangers around the world to draw each other’s Facebook profile pics.

In a moment of inspiration, Jordan decided to contribute to the project. However, he decided to up his stakes in the project.

Jordan decided to have a tattoo artist permanently draw a stranger’s Facebook profile pic on his butt.

“Not only did I want to be a part of this movement that’s happening, but I wanted to be an important part,” Jordan inexplicably explains in a short NSFW video documenting the process of getting a completely random person’s face etched forever on his ass-skin.

“Feeling connected, not only to your friends and your community, but to people on the other side of the world is something that is so important,” he continues. “Once in a while I can catch a glimpse of my ass in the mirror, I’m gonna remember ‘hey, there’s Amarildo! Here’s this thing I did.”

Clearly, Joey has a “world-connectedness” thing going on here. BUT – doesn’t it seem a little permanent to tattoo a stranger’s face on your buttocks?

Thoughts?
