Music Video: Jeb Havens “Close Love”

Out singer/songwriter Jeb Havens (currently on a journey around the world with his bf) drops this music video for “Close Love” from his album HOME BASE.

For this video, we shot footage in and around the gorgeous cathedral in Cologne, Germany, and the nearby “love locks” bridge.

Created entirely using a phone, a laptop, and an amazing boyfriend.

One of my goals of my travels is to record and release videos for a bunch of the songs from “Home Base” (capturing some of the amazing places I get to visit), so I’m really excited to finally share the first one with you all.

I’ve previously written about the talented and oh-so-woofy Havens here, here and here.

Jeb Havens is an international recording artist and songwriter based in Los Angeles, and one of my favorite out musicians.

His music is a blend of catchy pop and raw emotional therapy. His YouTube channel, featuring his popular “Closet Covers” series has over 650,000 views, and captured the attention of Reddit, BuzzFeed, and the TV show “Right This Minute”.

Jeb shares many of the songs from HOME BASE, and talks about the creative process involved in creating the new album.

Jeb will host and perform at a record release party at Rockwell in Los Angeles tonight. Plus, it’s his birthday, so much celebrating to do!

Music: Jeb Havens’ Closet Cover – Alanis Morissette’s “Uninvited”

One of my favorite indie artists, out singer/songwriter Jeb Havens, shares the latest in his Closet Covers series.

This time we get “invited” to Havenss take on Alanis Morissette’s “Uninvited.”

Havens cites Morissette as a huge influence on his own music, and for good reason. This sits right in the sweet spot of Haven’s musical wheel house. Sincere, complex lyrics and melody in a stripped down setting leaving the emotional life bare for the audience.

I’ve shared other music from Havens here and here and here.

Definitely head over to iTunes to check out more of his music. But first, hit the play button below and enjoy.

Happy Monday!

Jeb Havens Covers Stevie Nicks’ “Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You?”

Sexy Jeb Havens continues his “Closer Covers’ series with a sensitive performance of Stevie Nicks’ “Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You?”

Havens writes, ‘Channeling the incredible Stevie Nicks, trying out her gorgeous song “Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You?” on the keys/mic setup in my closet.’

Jeb Havens & Michael Powers Cover “Enough” By Reba McEntire & Jennifer Nettles

The universe has a fantastic way of taking care of us, don’t you know?

Just in time for Hump Day (or should it be “Hunk Day?”), woofy Jeb Havens and Michael Powers share their take on the Reba McEntire/Jennifer Nettles hit “Enough” from Reba’s new album Love Somebody (currently number one on the iTunes Country chart).

Following in the tradition of Haven’s “Closet Covers,” the two songsters recorded their separate vocals from their respective closets in Los Angeles and Chicago.

The guys shared this with the video on YouTube:

We both love this amazing song from Reba’s new album so decided to record a cover from our closets in Los Angeles and Chicago. Please share the video if you like it. Maybe then even Reba herself might see it someday. 🙂

So, let’s see if we can make that happen. Share this link all over your social media, kids 🙂

Havens is a Randy Report favorite having stopped internet traffic with his heartbreaking cover of “Fast Car” last year. Find more of my coverage of Havens here.

You can follow his YouTube channel here, and follow American Idol’s Michael Powers on YouTube here.

Music: “Exit Strategy” Tawnee Kendall ft Jeb Havens and the Hangover Brigade

New music video from Tawnee Kendall featuring totally woofy Jeb Havens and the Hangover Brigade – “Exit Strategy.”

“Exit Strategy” is a love song about having someone you can depend on to get you out of any situation. Whether that be something as simple as a party, or as important as a previous bad relationship.

Download the song off the Still Taste It EP.

When Four Gay Indie Artists Covered John Mayer’s “St. Patrick’s Day”

Out indie artists Tom Goss, Jeb Havens, Dennis Hensley and Matt Zarley unite (kinda like the Avengers, but not…) to bring you this cover of John Meyer’s “St. Patrick’s Day.”

Favorite shot has to be Tom Goss shirtless in the middle of this wintry tune.

I’m a fan of all four, so follow them on their respective YouTube channels:
