Today’s the day of the big J.Lo/Shakira concert! I hear in honor of the music, there will also be a big sports ball game. Plus, it’s Groundhog’s Day – and yep, Punxsutawney Phil predicts early spring. AND – today’s date is a rare eight-digit palindrome (reads same, forward and backward), 02/02/2020 — the only one of its kind this century: Aziz Inan, a University of Portland (Ore.) professor who has a website chronicling 500 years’ worth of palindromes, tells the Post about today’s rare configuration — where both MM/DD/YEAR and DD/MM/YEAR are palindromes. “The previous eight-digit palindrome like this was 11/11/1111, 909 years ago. We’ll only have to wait another 101 years for 12/12/2121.” P.S. Today is “the 33rd day of the year, which is followed by 333 more days.” (via Axios)
Which Countries In The World Are Most Endowed?
Mandatory.com has done the research and added up the numbers for the countries with the biggest (and smallest) penises around the world. Because that’s the kind of info people love to find on the internet, right?
Before we get to the map (click to enlarge the images above) and list of the average erect penis sizes for 80 countries worldwide, here are some notable findings:
-The proper way to measure is from tip of the penis to the very bottom of the pubic bone.
-The global average is 5.5 inches.
-The most well hung country in our study is the Democratic Republic of the Congo (aka Congo), with an average of 7.1 inches.
-On average, South America is the most well hung continent (6.36 inches).
-North Korea has the smallest dick size on average (3.8 inches).
-Only 3 percent of men worldwide are over 8 inches. Only 6 percent of men actually need extra large condoms.
-Of the 80 countries included, the U.S. ranks #61 in average erect penis size.
What really happens inside a dishwasher?
I have to admit to being a bit fascinated to find out what this was really like.
YouTube user Bito posts:
Always wanted to see what happens in my dishwasher after I close the door. Many of the other videos I saw had terrible lighting or bad angles.
Using a Hero 3. I had two light sources reflecting at different angles.
This was my third attempt. The biggest problem I had to overcome was the heat and battery time.
Ok, after a bit it’s repetitive, but still to know how (or not) how your dishwasher actually gets anything clean was interesting.
I was born curious.

Are you Right or Left Brained?
Quick 30 second test online by Sommer + Sommer to determine which side of your brain in more dominant.
Surprisingly, I came out”equal.” I have always thought that I the left side of my brain was much more dominant.
Take the quick test here. You might be surprised.
This is an ad for mascara
According to Benefit and the “creative studio” that helped make the ad, the commercial is “intended to break the mold of the traditional beauty ad” by making mascara get “in-your-face gratuitous with your fave celebrity packages (wink, wink).” Like the Zesty Guy or the Old Spice guy that came before — except this time, the connection between man meat and product is even more tenuous.

How much stuff do our bodies make in a year?
From Buzzfeed Video
Video: Goats that scream like humans
Curious and fascinating in that the goats really do sound human.
Your brain on marijuana – in two minutes
From ASAPScience – Your brain on marijuana broken down for you in two minutes.
I love these videos. I’m a curious guy and wonder how things work.
I’m not a marijuana guy, but I don’t have a problem with other folks enjoying it. However, it’s cool to understand exactly what is happening when smoking pot. And interesting to know that the chemicals involved are similar to ones already at work in our brains.
Anyway – interesting stuff in two minutes for this short attention span guy…

New York Times: Memorable Presidential debate moments
From the New York Times, Sam Tanenhaus, editor of the Book Review, talks about some of the most memorable presidential debate moments of the televised era.
Really interesting stuff here. I never knew there were no debates between 1960 election and 1976 election.
