Oprah Winfrey Endorses Hillary Clinton For President

Speaking to ET‘s Nancy O’Dell last night, media mogul Oprah Winfrey intoned Hillary Clinton’s campaign slogan “I’m with her” to endorse the Democratic presidential contender:

“Regardless of your politics, it’s a seminal moment for women,” she continued. “What this says is, there is no ceiling, that ceiling just went boom! It says anything is possible when you can be leader of the free world.”

“I’m with her,” Oprah added, touting Clinton’s campaign slogan and effectively endorsing the former Secretary of State. Clinton, the presumptive Democratic Party nominee for president, was also recently endorsed by President Barack Obama, who declined to back any candidate until the primaries had ended.

Donald Trump’s Unfavorability Hits Highest Level Since Announcing Candidacy For President

Donald Trump’s unfavorability level is at 70%, the highest since announcing his presidential campaign, according to a new poll out Tuesday.

According to the new Washington Post/ABC News survey, 7 out of 10 American adults have an unfavorable opinion of the Republican presumptive presidential nominee. That’s a significant reversal from a few weeks ago when Trump’s polling seemed to be trending upward.

Just 29% reported having a favorable opinion of Trump in the new poll.

Among Hispanic respondents, that number is 89% unfavorable.

In related news, Hillary Clinton has surged to a 12 point lead over Trump in the latest Bloomberg Politics poll.

First Post-Orlando Poll Shows Hillary Clinton Leads Donald Trump By +12

A new Bloomberg Politics national poll shows Clinton leading Trump 49 percent to 37 percent among likely voters in November’s election, with 55 percent of those polled saying they could never vote for the real-estate developer and TV personality.

Most national polls in late May and early June showed a closer race, but they were taken before criticism intensified of Trump’s charge that a U.S. judge overseeing fraud cases against Trump University is biased because of the judge’s Mexican heritage. Fifty-five percent of likely voters in the new poll said they were very bothered by those comments.

“Clinton has a number of advantages in this poll, in addition to her lead,” said pollster J. Ann Selzer, who oversaw the survey. “Her supporters are more enthusiastic than Trump’s and more voters overall see her becoming a more appealing candidate than say that for Trump.”

Hillary Clinton Issues Statement On Orlando Shooting At Pulse Nightclub

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has released a statement regarding the massacre at Orlando gay nightclub Pulse overnight which took the lives of at least 50 people and hospitalized 53 others.

“I join Americans in praying for the victims of the attack in Orlando, their families and the first responders who did everything they could to save lives.

“This was an act of terror. Law enforcement and intelligence agencies are hard at work, and we will learn more in the hours and days ahead. For now, we can say for certain that we need to redouble our efforts to defend our country from threats at home and abroad. That means defeating international terror groups, working with allies and partners to go after them wherever they are, countering their attempts to recruit people here and everywhere, and hardening our defenses at home. It also means refusing to be intimidated and staying true to our values.

“This was also an act of hate. The gunman attacked an LGBT nightclub during Pride Month. To the LGBT community: please know that you have millions of allies across our country. I am one of them. We will keep fighting for your right to live freely, openly and without fear. Hate has absolutely no place in America.

“Finally, we need to keep guns like the ones used last night out of the hands of terrorists or other violent criminals. This is the deadliest mass shooting in the history of the United States and it reminds us once more that weapons of war have no place on our streets.

“This is a time to stand together and resolve to do everything we can to defend our communities and country.”

Bill Maher: Hillary Did Win “Fair And Square”

Bill Maher and panelists discuss Bernie Sanders’ accomplishments, and Hillary Clinton’s decisive victory in the primary campaign in this clip from June 10, 2016.

Maher celebrated Sanders’ campaign, but reminded that Clinton did win “fair and square.”

“It can’t be the case … where it’s fair when you win and rigged when you lose,” he added. “It’s often seen that when someone has big crowds, that that means something … [but] it’s who shows up in the voting booth.”

Poll: Hillary Clinton Leads Donald Trump In Double Digits

Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump by 11 points in the U.S. presidential race, showing little change after she became the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee this week, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Friday.

The online poll, conducted from Monday to Friday, shows 46 percent of likely voters support Clinton while 34.8 percent back Trump. Another 19.2 percent support neither candidate. Their parties hold conventions in July ahead of a Nov. 8 election.

• Non-discrimination protections for LGBTQ employees of federal contractors,
• Landmark hate crimes legislation,
• Greater visibility for transgender people,
• President Obama’s call for an end to abusive practice of “conversion therapy,”
• The Administration’s support for LGBTQ students,
• Support for HIV prevention and affordable treatment.

This election year, everything we’ve fought for is on the line. Donald Trump has spewed vitriol about marriage equality, people of color, women, immigrants and more.

In the words of Hillary Clinton, “Cooperation is better than conflict, unity is better than division, empowerment is better than resentment, and bridges are better than walls.”

Sen. Elizabeth Warren To Meet With Hillary Clinton Today

First, there was Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s blistering take-down of Donald Trump yesterday afternoon.

That was followed by Warren’s full-throated endorsement of Hillary Clinton for president last night on the Rachel Maddow Show.

Today, the Washington Post reports that Warren will be meeting with Clinton:

Elizabeth Warren and Hillary Clinton will meet privately Friday morning, according to two knowledgeable Democrats. The sit-down, coming just hours after the Massachusetts senator formally endorsed the presumptive Democratic nominee, will fuel speculation about her prospects as a potential vice presidential pick.

The women have had several conversations over the past month, including one that lasted around half an hour, sources told The Washington Post. The conversations were broad and focused on large topics and issues, rather than the nitty-gritty of the campaign. Their staffs have been engaged in more tactical discussions.

The two women do not have a particularly deep relationship, but that could change as Clinton rallies Democrats around her in the wake of winning the Democratic nomination in recent days. There were three big endorsements that could have meaningfully helped Clinton wrap up the nomination battle: Warren, President Obama and Vice President Biden. Clinton secured all three on Thursday.

Senate Minority leader Harry Reid is pushing hard for Warren to be Hillary’s veep pick.

I have to say, the speech yesterday afternoon was absolutely vice-presidential “attack dog” material.
