According to “Punxsutawney Phil” – who apparently saw his shadow at about 7:25am today – we are in for six weeks of more winter.
(Not sure I buy it, but “Phil” is cute, so I wanted to post the picture.)
Happy Groundhog’s Day!
While Mayor De Blasio may have dropped “Staten Island Chuck” – the NYC version of Punxsutawney Phil – Chuck did predict that NYC’s current winter will extend another six weeks.
Local weather forecasters say Chuck is right 82% of the time.

It’s been feeling more like the movie “Groundhogs Day” than the actual day this past month.
Egypt continues to be in turmoil, health care reform is still being debated, Mitt Romney is still running for President (for, what, four years now?) and Sarah Palin is still smug and snarky…
The good news is: Punxsutawney Phil didn’t see his shadow this morning – since the biggest snow storm ever is happening again and again. Here’s to an early Spring, kids.
