Video Killed The Radio Star

Happy birthday MTV!

How I remember being a college freshman at Syracuse University, hanging at my fraternity house (Sigma Chi – Psi Psi chapter) with my brothers for hours, just watching and drinking and watching and drinking…

Ah, good times.

MTV gaves us a new way to watch TV and be culturally “involved.” It gave us “Girls Just Want To Have Fun”, “Whip It” and “We Are The World.”

Now we get pregnant teenagers and Jersey never-beens.

Here’s the very first minute MTV was on the “air”:

Father & son attend first and last shuttle launch together

From BoingBoing: “Father and Son: STS-1 and STS-135,” a photo by Chris Bray, who is the younger of the two in these side-by-side captures from the very first shuttle launch thirty years ago, and the final one, last Friday. “The picture we waited 30 years to complete.”

How cool is that to have attended both the first and last launches with your father or son?
