Trump Rages At Republicans Not Defending Him Enough

Donald Trump threw another bitter tantrum Monday saying that Republicans in Congress were not united enough in defending him against his “vicious” political enemies. From the New York Times:

Mr. Trump lashed out at Senator Mitt Romney, Republican of Utah, the only member of his party who has signaled he may be open to impeaching Mr. Trump, arguing that the senator’s defection showed weakness in the party.

Launching into a series of attacks on Democrats, Mr. Trump said approvingly that they were “vicious and they stick together. They don’t have Mitt Romney in their midst — they don’t have people like that.”

“They stick together,” Mr. Trump added, during a lengthy question-and-answer session with reporters at a cabinet meeting. “You never see them break off.”

It was the second time in as many days that Mr. Trump — coming to terms with the fact that he will most likely be impeached by the Democratic-led House within weeks and face a Senate trial immediately after — has complained about a lack of support from Republicans as he faces the greatest threat yet to his presidency.

On Sunday night, Trump tweeted, “When do the Do Nothing Democrats pay a price for what they are doing to our Country, & when do the Republicans finally fight back?”

Hillary Trolls Trump With Parody JFK Letter To Khrushchev

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton trolled Donald Trump today tweeting a parody letter of Trump’s now-infamous letter to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Clinton’s tweet featured a fake letter from President Kennedy to former Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev that appeared previously on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ The parody missive reads, “Don’t be a dick, ok? Get your missiles out of Cuba. Everybody will say ‘Yay! Khrushchev! You’re the best!’ But if you don’t everybody will be like ‘what an asshole’ and call your garbage country ‘The Soviet Bunion.’ You’re really busting my nuts here. Give you a jingle later. Hugs, John Fitzgerald Kennedy.” #FTW

Trump Reverses On Awarding Himself G7 Summit Contract

After much pushback from Republicans and Democrats, Donald Trump announced he will not award himself the contract to host the next G7 summit at his Florida golf resort. Trump attempted to say the decision wouldn’t enrich him because he offered to host the event ‘at cost.’ Of course, even if that were to be true (who would ever know?) the amount of world-wide press/publicity his property would get would be worth millions at a minimum. Acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney told Fox News’ Chris Wallace Team Trump was “surprised at the pushback” they received over the idea. As CBS News’ David Begnaud notes “it’s surprising that they were surprised.” In that Trump owns the Doral, he was going to make money off of one of the biggest annual political summits in the world.

So, Trump decided NOT to commit a felony and now he’s mad about it???

Mulvaney Denies Saying What He Said But Chris Wallace Has The Receipts

Acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney told the press Donald Trump used military aid to Ukraine as leverage to get the Ukrainian government to investigate Trump’s political opponents. When asked if the aid was conditioned on investigating Democratic National Committee server, Mulvaney said, “We do it all the time.” He denied it to Chris Wallace, but Wallace brought the receipts. #oops “You were asked specifically by Jonathan Karl was investigating Democrats one of the conditions for holding up the aid, was part of the quid pro quo, and you said ‘it happens all the time,’” Wallace said. Mulvaney claims since he himself never uttered the words ‘quid pro quo’ it can’t be pinned on him.

NYC Audit Shows No 9/11 Donations From Donald Trump

The New York City Comptroller’s Office has found no evidence that Donald Trump donated to 9/11 charities in the months after the attacks, the agency said.

Trump had promised weeks after the 2001 attack to donate $10,000 to the Twin Towers Fund as part of a charity effort by “The Howard Stern Show.”

“My office has reviewed the donations made in the nearly 12 months following the attacks – and we didn’t find evidence that he contributed a single cent to the victims, our first responders, and to our city through the Twin Towers Fund,” New York City Comptroller Scott Stringer, a Democrat, said in a statement to ABC News today.

“In the wake of 9/11, New Yorkers came together, healed, and rebuilt. If Donald Trump claimed to donate and didn’t, if he claimed to support New Yorkers in a time of crisis and refused, then that would be just plain wrong.”

It’s possible that the Republican presidential nominee donated after the two audit periods reviewed by Stringer’s office. The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to ABC News’ request for comment.

Giuliani Paid $500k To Work For Ukrainian Businessmen Arrested Last Week

It appears Rudy Giuliani worked for Donald Trump for free but received $500k of unknown funds from foreign actors, who are under arrest. And, was exempt from conflict of interest laws because he wasn’t made a special govt employee despite involvement in coordinating Trump’s meeting with Zelensky? From Reuters:

President Donald Trump’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, was paid $500,000 for work he did for a company co-founded by the Ukrainian-American businessman arrested last week on campaign finance charges, Giuliani told Reuters on Monday.

The businessman, Lev Parnas, is a close associate of Giuliani and was involved in his effort to investigate Trump’s political rival, former Vice President Joe Biden, who is a leading contender for the 2020 Democratic Party nomination.

Giuliani said Parnas’ company, Boca Raton-based Fraud Guarantee, whose website says it aims to help clients “reduce and mitigate fraud”, engaged Giuliani Partners, a management and security consulting firm, around August 2018. Giuliani said he was hired to consult on Fraud Guarantee’s technologies and provide legal advice on regulatory issues.

Federal prosecutors are “examining Giuliani’s interactions” with Parnas and another Giuliani associate, Igor Fruman, who was also indicted on campaign finance charges, a law enforcement source told Reuters on Sunday.

The New York Times reported last week that Parnas had told associates he paid Giuliani hundreds of thousands of dollars for what Giuliani said was business and legal advice. Giuliani said for the first time on Monday that the total amount was $500,000.

Poll: Trump Trails Generic Democrat In Ohio

A new Public Policy Polling survey shows Donald Trump trailing a generic Democratic opponent 47-48 percent and his favorable/unfavorable rating is underwater at 47-51 percent. Innovation Ohio notes that among vital independent voters, Trump trails a generic Democrat 37-51 percent. “Ohio is a must-win state for President Trump. His poor numbers in this poll help to explain his early spending on TV and digital ads here,” said Innovation Ohio President Janetta King. Trump won Ohio in 2016 decisively by 8 points. Tested against five Democratic candidates Trump couldn’t break through the 47 percent mark.

Fake Video Portrays Trump As ‘Media Slayer’ Shown At His Florida Resort

This video – depicting a violent scene of a fake President Trump shooting, stabbing & assaulting members of the news media & his political opponents – was shown at a conference for his supporters at his Miami resort. From the New York Times:

Mr. Trump stops in the middle of the church, pulls a gun out of his suit jacket pocket and begins a graphic rampage. As the parishioners try to flee, the president fires at them. He shoots Black Lives Matter in the head and also shoots Vice News.

Some of those in the church try to apprehend Mr. Trump. He fends them off and makes his way toward the altar, knocking over several pews. He wrestles a parishioner with a Vice News logo as a face to the ground and then shoots the person at point-blank range. In the background, the former F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, is seen trying to get away.

From there, Mr. Trump attacks a range of his critics. He strikes the late Arizona senator John McCain in the back of the neck. He hits the television personality Rosie O’Donnell in the face and then stabs her in the head. He strikes Representative Maxine Waters, Democrat of California. He lights the head of Senator Bernie Sanders, a Democratic presidential rival, on fire.

Also among the Donald’s victims in the video are former President Barack Obama, Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT), Mika Brzezinski of MSNBC; former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton; former President Bill Clinton; the film producer Harvey Weinstein; and Representative Adam B. Schiff. The video concludes with Trump driving a stake into the head of a person with a CNN logo for a face. The Trumpster then turns to view his carnage, smiling.

White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham tweeted Monday morning that Trump (who lives on Twitter where the video is trending) “has not seen the video” but he “strongly condemns” the video.

Defense Sec Defends ‘Deliberate Withdrawal’ From Syria Ordered By Trump

During an appearance on Fox News ‘Face The Nation,’ Secretary of Defense Mark Esper told Chris Wallace the United States is  “preparing a deliberate withdrawal” of about 1,000 U.S. troops from northern Syria “as safely and quickly as possible.” The move comes a week after Donald Trump announced the shifting of American troops embedded with Kurdish forces in northern Syria, a move that opened the door for Turkish forces to move against the Syrian Defense Forces (SDF). The SDF has been the United States’ primary allies in the fight against ISIS.

Republicans and Democrats agree only bad will come from this ‘deliberate withdrawal.’ Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), a military veteran, said this on CBS’ Face The Nation:
