As Sarah Palin, former half-term governor of Alaska (before she quit), endorsed GOP White House hopeful Donald Trump, political folks across the country watched this incredible word salad pour forth from her mouth.
It’s really something to see. Just a few samples:
• “Well, and then, funny, ha ha, not funny, but now, what they’re doing is wailing, ‘Well, Trump and his Trumpeters, they’re not conservative enough.’ ”
• “And he, who would negotiate deals, kind of with the skills of a community organizer maybe organizing a neighborhood tea, well, he deciding that, ‘No, America would apologize as part of the deal,’ as the enemy sends a message to the rest of the world that they capture and we kowtow, and we apologize, and then, we bend over and say, ‘Thank you, enemy.’ ”
• “We’re talking about no more Reaganesque power that comes from strength. Power through strength.” (I think that was a bungled attempt to recall President Reagan’s famous “Peace through strength” line, but does it really matter?)
And, have you ever seen The Donald sit back so passively and hand the spotlight to someone else?
In related news, Trump refused to rule out a Palin as his running mate during an appearance on The Today Show this morning.
