Donald Trump Pulls Out Of FOX News GOP Debate

After some very entertaining comments thrown back and forth between Fox News and Donald Trump, the Trumpster has issued a statement saying he will definitely boycott Thursday night’s GOP debate hosted by Fox News.

The statement reads, in part, “Unlike the very stupid, highly incompetent people running our country into the ground, Mr. Trump knows when to walk away.”

The brouhaha centers around Trump’s objection to Megyn Kelly taking part in the debate as one of the moderators. Trump maintains that he is not being treated “fairly.”

Trump recently told CNN he was considering skipping the debate because he felt Kelly was biased against him.

If I think I’m going to be treated unfairly, I’d do something else. But I don’t think she can treat me fairly, actually. I think she’s very biased. And I don’t think she can treat me fairly. But that doesn’t mean I don’t do the debates. I like doing the debate. I’ve won every single debate, according to every poll.

Fox News issued a statement saying, “Sooner or later Donald Trump, even if he’s president, is going to have to learn that he doesn’t get to pick the journalists — we’re very surprised he’s willing to show that much fear about being questioned by Megyn Kelly.”

Last night, after Trump posted a Twitter poll asking whether he should or should not attend the debate (respondents were evenly split), Fox News served this dose of snark via Mediaite:

We learned from a secret back channel that the Ayatollah and Putin both intend to treat Donald Trump unfairly when they meet with him if he becomes president — a nefarious source tells us that Trump has his own secret plan to replace the Cabinet with his Twitter followers to see if he should even go to those meetings.

Donald Trump Dislikes Fox News’ Megyn Kelly So Much He May Boycott Next Debate

I’ll say this: if Donald Trump can’t handle Fox News’ Megyn Kelly, he’s gonna be knee-deep in trouble onstage with Hillary Clinton.

Just saying.

Tina Fey Returns To SNL As “Sarah Palin” And It’s Priceless

After the former half-term governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin, endorsed Donald Trump, you knew this was coming.

Tina Fey returned to SNL last night to reprise her spot on version of Palin, to spectacular results.

She takes Palin’s endorsement speech and just ups the ante a smidge to perfection. Thank you, baby Jesus!

“I’m here for all you teachers and teamsters, you farmers and charmers, whether you’re a mom or two broke girls, or three men and a baby, or a rock and roller, holy roller, pushing stroller, pro bowler with an abcess molar.”

Best moment at 2:23.

Enjoy.

Glenn Beck Calls Donald Trump The Next Hitler

“You should be freaking out. Look, we have nothing against Donald Trump as a man. We don’t. It’s just this is a very dangerous combination and I have been warning against it since Fox. I said keep your eyes open because it will come. The pendulum will swing the other way and it will be bad. He’s talking about populism and nationalism.

“If you add socialism — populism, nationalism and socialism, you have the makings of Adolf Hitler. You don’t want somebody who is a nationalist, a populist and has any kind of socialist or nationalizing the banks kind of ideas. Not a good idea, not a good idea.”

Donald Trump Attack Ad Frames Ted Cruz As Waffling On Immigration

The war of words continues between GOP front-runners Donald Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz as the Iowa caucus’ loom just on the horizon.

Trump has a new ad out attacking Cruz’s position on immigration reform using an appearance on FOX News where Cruz seemed to stutter, unable to fully explain his position.

Of course, it ends with Trump doing a confident and clearly practiced articulation of his anti-immigrant position.

It’s a solid ad, but nothing spectacular. On a scale of one to ten, I’d give it a 7.

The ad is set to run in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina.

Cher On Donald Trump: “He’s The Ultimate Ego”

Cher pulls no punches in summing up the current presidential race regarding former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and billionaire Donald Trump to Billboard:

“Believe whatever you want about Hillary; whatever she is or isn’t, she’s tough,” Cher says.

“I don’t like anything about Donald Trump. It’s a joke at a time when you really need serious people. I don’t think he wants the job, or I don’t think he actually wants to do the work. I think he wants the job because it’s the ultimate deal, and he’s the ultimate ego. I don’t know that I’ve heard or seen anybody like him, and I also never thought that Americans would go for someone like him, a person of his quality.”

The Word Salad That Was Sarah Palin’s Endorsement Of Donald Trump

The cover of today’s New York Daily News

As Sarah Palin, former half-term governor of Alaska (before she quit), endorsed GOP White House hopeful Donald Trump, political folks across the country watched this incredible word salad pour forth from her mouth.

It’s really something to see. Just a few samples:

• “Well, and then, funny, ha ha, not funny, but now, what they’re doing is wailing, ‘Well, Trump and his Trumpeters, they’re not conservative enough.’ ”

“And he, who would negotiate deals, kind of with the skills of a community organizer maybe organizing a neighborhood tea, well, he deciding that, ‘No, America would apologize as part of the deal,’ as the enemy sends a message to the rest of the world that they capture and we kowtow, and we apologize, and then, we bend over and say, ‘Thank you, enemy.’ ”

“We’re talking about no more Reaganesque power that comes from strength. Power through strength.” (I think that was a bungled attempt to recall President Reagan’s famous “Peace through strength” line, but does it really matter?)

And, have you ever seen The Donald sit back so passively and hand the spotlight to someone else?

In related news, Trump refused to rule out a Palin as his running mate during an appearance on The Today Show this morning.

Tina Fey is must be dancing in the streets today.

Sarah Palin Endorses Donald Trump For President

Sarah Palin, former half-term governor of Alaska and failed 2008 vice-presidential candidate, has endorsed Donald Trump in the Republican presidential primary.

From the New York Times:

“I’m proud to endorse Donald J. Trump for president,” Ms. Palin said in a statement provided by his campaign.

Her support is the highest-profile backing for a Republican contender so far.

“I am greatly honored to receive Sarah’s endorsement,” Mr. Trump said in a statement trumpeting Mrs. Palin’s decision. “She is a friend, and a high-quality person whom I have great respect for. I am proud to have her support.”

In Iowa, where Ms. Palin spent years developing support, the endorsement could be especially helpful.

”Over the years Palin has actually cultivated a number of relationships in Iowa,” said Craig Robinson, the former executive director of the Republican Party of Iowa and publisher of the website The Iowa Republican. ”There are the Tea Party activists who still think she’s great and a breath of fresh air, but she also did a good job of courting Republican donors in the state,” he added.

It should be noted that Palin has been publicly campaigning for the veep choice or a a cabinet position in a Trump administration for months.
