Cleveland man beaten by mob of 20 in anti-gay attack

Cleveland’s WKYC reports on an attack by a mob of 20 on a single gay man Sunday night:

A man walking to a bar on Cleveland’s west side overnight Sunday was attacked in what police are calling a hate crime.

Jared Fox says he was walking from his car toward Cocktails bar, a well-known gay bar, on West 93rd Street and Detroit Avenue just before midnight Saturday. Fox says a group of 20 young men surrounded him on the sidewalk, using gay slurs.

“They didn’t know if I had money. They didn’t know anything about me,” said Fox. “They saw that there was a gay bar at the corner and they saw me walking to it.”

Then the group attacked Fox, punching him in the face repeatedly and knocking him to the ground. “They said what’s in your pockets and I said, I got no money I’m broke, and they said, ‘oh so you’re one of those broke faggots?’ And then they just started swinging,” said Fox.

He suffered a black eye, a ruptured right ear drum and some hearing loss, as well as dozens of bruises across his body.

OMG. Seriously? Sadly, yes. Seriously.

Check out the video of Rush Limbaugh finding that ever elusive connection between the Cleveland kidnapping victims and President Obama.

From MSNBC:

Turns out a certain episode of the CBS series Hawaii Five-O got Rush Limbaugh thinking about a political spin to the Cleveland kidnappings. What if the suspects carried out the kidnappings in order to qualify for welfare benefits and tax exemptions, as was the case in the television show?

“Now I don’t know what happened in Cleveland, but I couldn’t help but make the connection,” Limbaugh explained.

“Three brothers, but not related the three women, have been arrested in Cleveland,” he continued before dropping the possibility that they voted for President Obama. The city, he pointed out, voted for Obama.

Limbaugh admits that he doesn’t have the facts on the case before launching into the explanation that the abductions are somehow related to welfare benefits and sarcastically suggesting that the suspects are likely Obama voters. He pointed out one of the victim’s had a baby.

“Double welfare benefits if one of the women has a baby,” Limbaugh declared.

Charles Ramsey, Cleveland kidnap victims hero: “Take that reward and give it to the victims”

Charles Ramsey became an instant Internet sensation on Monday when he helped free Amanda Berry, Georgina DeJesus and Michele Knight from the house next to his where they had been trapped for around 10 years.

“Bro, I knew something was wrong when a little, pretty white girl ran into a black man’s arms,” he told WEWS following the rescue. “Something is wrong here. Dead giveaway.”

When told that there was a reward offered for at least two of the victims, Ramsey declined.

“Just went picked it up, paycheck,” he added, producing an envelope from his pocket. “What that address say?”

“Where are them girls living? Right next door to this paycheck. So yes, take that reward and give it to — that little girl came out the house and she was crying.”

Cleveland: Three dogs tied to train tracks

ABC News is reporting that three dogs were seen being tied to train tracks in Cleveland. Two of the dogs apparently were killed but one survived. A railroad employee has been quoted as having seen someone taking pictures or video as train went by.

“It’s got everyone upset over here that someone would do that. It’s awful that someone did that to torture animals, and might be filming it,” Lt. Mark Ketterer, who is leading the investigation for the Cleveland Police Department, told the Plain Dealer newspaper. The surviving dog, which is believed to be a mixed-breed Manchester terrier and is much smaller than the others, managed to avoid the train by crouching, said Leslie DeSouza, kennel manager at the Cuyahoga Animal Shelter, which is caring for the dog.

PETA is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person who did this unthinkable act.
