Gallup Poll: President Obama And Hillary Clinton Named “Most Admired”

President Barack Obama was again named the man most Americans admire in Gallup’s annual poll. He has been on the top of the list every year since 2008.

Obama also currently enjoys an unusually high approval rating, 56%, for an outgoing president.

Hillary Clinton was the woman Americans most admired for the 15th year in a row.

From Politico:

In second place was his successor, Donald Trump, favored by 15 percent.

Others in the top 10 included Pope Francis in third place and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders in fourth, followed by the Rev. Billy Graham in fifth. Bill Clinton tied for sixth place with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the Dalai Lama and Bill Gates, while Vice President-elect Mike Pence came in 10th.

Asked to name the woman they most admire, 12 percent of Americans polled by Gallup chose Hillary Clinton, who has come in first in the poll 21 times, a record. First lady Michelle Obama came in second, at 8 percent.

In a crime-ridden and racially charged environment, Barry finds himself pulled between various social spheres and struggles to maintain a series of increasingly strained relationships with his Kansas-born mother, his estranged Kenyan father, and his classmates.

Barry is the story of a young man grappling with those same issues that his country, and arguably the world, are still coming to terms with 35 years later.

The film begins streaming December 16.

Florida: Old Dixie Highway Changed To Barack Obama Highway

Riviera Beach, Florida, is now the only city in the country where you can stand on the corner of Barack Obama and Martin Luther King.

It’s official. Old Dixie Highway is now officially President Barack Obama Highway within the city limits of Riviera Beach.

For the residents of Riviera Beach, it has been a long time coming.

Mary Brabham has been a resident of Riviera Beach for years. She says the change is welcome.

“It’s time to let the past be the past. We are moving forward and do things not for one, but for all.”

According to Riviera Beach Mayor Thomas Masters, Old Dixie Highway served as a reminder that this city was once heavily segregated.

Changing signage is about closing the chapter on racism and beginning a renewed sense of pride.
