The baby birds are gone…

Yesterday, we walked out to our courtyard and realized the mama bird and baby birds who we’ve walked past for two weeks had grown up and flown away…

We were pretty used to walking past them and saying ‘hello’ and trying not to disturb the mama and kids.  It’s been amazing to see this whole ‘miracle’ unfold at eye level.

Sigh. They grow up so fast…

The baby birds are here!

Two weeks ago, I posted about a mama bird who was sitting in her nest – which is at eye level – in a palm tree in our courtyard.

A week later, while she was away from her nest for a minute I peeked in and saw she had two eggs in the nest. I was very careful not to disturb them or get too close.

Over night, the eggs hatched and the I got a picture of the baby birds from a distance.

We walk through our front courtyard all day going to the front office, and we always walk soooo slow and quietly so as to not upset or bother the mama bird. We’ve asked our gardener to not go in the courtyard for the time being. The courtyard is the mama’s.
