Colton Haynes To Star In New Series As ‘Famous InstaGay’

Handsome Arrow star Colton Haynes has been announced to star in a new TV series titled I Run Hot.

The series, being developed for AMC Studios by Broad City co-creator Ilana Glazer, will star the 31-year-old actor playing “a famous #instagay who can’t help but exemplify it.”

Eliot Glazer (Broad City), brother of Ilana, co-stars as “a gay curmudgeon who never quite fit in with the community” as the series follows the duo’s unlikely friendship.

Haynes posted the announcement on his social media writing, “Here we go!!! I am sooo excited to work with my boos @eliotglazer @ilana @amc_tv #IRunHot”

Haynes returned to his role of “Roy Harper” on The CW’s Arrow this past fall as the show wraps up its 8th and final season. The final two episodes are set to air on January 21 and 28.

In addition to Arrow, Haynes is well-known to TV audiences for his roles in Teen Wolf and American Horror Story: Cult.

After publicly coming out in 2016, he famously married florist Jeff Leatham only to file for divorce six months later.

In 2019, he seemingly emerged from a turbulent chapter in his life opening up about his issues with addiction in a candid interview in Attitude Magazine.

Speaking to The Advocate last summer, he took responsibility for how the press and social media spun his life out to the masses saying he had “no one to blame but myself.”

“I was posting every second of my life online. Every positive, every negative.”

“Eventually I became click bait, eventually everything that we all joke about — how I could literally say something online and the trolls will pick it up and spin it into something, that ‘I’m spiraling out of control,” he added. “I did make myself [look] that way, not knowing I was doing that.”

It looks like Haynes has turned the corner for himself and is heading towards a brighter future. Good on him!

Colton Haynes Calls Out ‘F*cked Up’ Hollywood Execs For Not Casting More Out Actors

Arrow/Teen Wolf star Colton Haynes went on an unexplained Twitter rant last night calling out Hollywood power peeps for not hiring more openly LGBT actors.

Haynes did, however, reserve praise for Hollywood execs Ryan Murphy (American Horror Story), Greg Berlanti (Arrow) and Jeff Davis (Teen Wolf) who have cast the handsome Haynes in his three most high-profile roles.

“Hollywood is so f**ked up. So much of the focus is on your personal life & has nothing to do with the talent you have to bring to the table.”

“Thank god for Ryan Murphy, Greg Berlanti, & Jeff Davis. They believe gay actors are more than just their personal lives.

“So disappointed in how Hollywood cant understand that playing a character has nothing to do with how u live your personal life.”

Haynes makes his return to Teen Wolf in the September 10 episode with fellow alum Charlie Carver as a hottie gay were-couple, and will also appear in the upcoming season of American Horror Story: Cult beginning September 5.

First Look at Wentworth Miller as “Captain Cold” on THE FLASH

Regular readers of The Randy Report know I’m a bit of a comic book geek, so I love the latest TV versions of super-heros brought to life.

This week saw the debut of Greg Berlanti’s latest TV iteration of superheroes, The Flash. The show is a spin-off of the popular ARROW. What all of these creative explorations of legendary comic book characters have in common is a lot of eye candy along with the “deeper than expected” story lines.

THE FLASH includes the return of out gay actor Wentworth Miller to TV. Miller plays Barry Allen’s nemesis Captain Cold.

Stephen Amell posts epic ARROW trailer

Just a sample of what’s to come on the CW’s ARROW…

Squee!!!

Stephen Amell has no problem having gay fans

A shirtless Stephen Amell is just one reason to like ARROW on the CW

So, being the comic book geek that I am, I’m a big fan of the CW’s series “Arrow” starring Stephen Amell.  On top of some cool story-telling, there’s the very attractive cast led by Stephen Amell.

Amell made a stop by Chelsea Lately this week and just got even cooler in my book. When Chelsea clarifies that he is straight so the gays shouldn’t proposition him, Stephen quickly slapped that down saying “People can hit on me if they want to!”

So he’s not only easy on the eyes, but he’s confident with himself and comfortable with his gay fans.

Catch Mr. Amell and company on Wednesdays on the CW.

Preview of Season 2 – “Arrow”

This was shown at ComicCon in San Diego this week.

Looks like “Black Canary” finally shows up. And I’m thinking Wally Harper will eventually become “Speedy.”

(god, I’m such a comic book geek…)

New season starts October 9, 2013 on the CW.
