Two elephants reunited after 22 years apart

Shirley and Jenny, two crippled elephants are reunited at The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee after a 22-year separation. The bonding was immediate, intense and unforgettable between the two former circus elephants. White lion cub has a big roar

This white lion cub in Serbia has a big roar.

A female white lion cub born at Belgrade Zoo in Serbia was shown to the media on Thursday. How about that roar? Uber cute.

Years ago, I saw white lions at the Milwaukee Zoo and they were beautiful to see in person. It might sound like something we do with children, but get out to the zoo sometime. Especially in cities other than your own.

 Great way to spend the day outdoors and learn a little something.

Mother hummingbird feeds baby in the palm of man’s hand

Wow. Pretty amazing that this mother bird trusted enough to feed her baby while he held the little one.

The man was feeding a baby hummingbird, found half dead on the ground outside his office building, when he noticed a worried mom hummingbird flying past his window.

He opened it up and the mother bird started feeding her baby right away. After a while, she found enough courage to feed it in the palm of his hand. He’s now sleeping on the window sill with the windows open so his mom can keep feeding him and checking on him.

Colorado bear hungry for German food, steals entire trash bin

Get to the 1:00 mark, and you smile.

She’s not fooling around. She literally takes the entire trash bin with her.

Food must be good at Edelweiss Restaurant in Colorado Springs.

The Denver Post reports:

A hungry bear with a hankering for German food has made repeat visits to a Colorado Springs restaurant, where security cameras have caught the bruin Dumpster-diving.

During a Wednesday morning visit to the back door of the Edelweiss Restaurant, 34. E. Ramona Ave., the bear pushed the garbage bin about 50 feet into the parking lot, flipped the container over and opened the lid to eat food tossed the night before.
