Hillary On Donald Trump: “He’s A Lot More Obsessed With Me Than I Am With Him”

The Tonight Show’s Jimmy Fallon asked Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton if Donald Trump “intimidates” her.

Her reaction is priceless.

My Favorite Thing Today: Aussie Crossfit Athlete Khan Porter

Australian Crossfit Athlete Khan Porter is officially “my favorite thing today.”

This story starts with Porter, who posted the following fun little “pre-lift” video featuring him dancing into gear before lifting 264lbs over his head.

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = “//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3”; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, ‘script’, ‘facebook-jssdk’));

Seeing as Instagram only allows 15 seconds of dancing and apparently the interwebs doesn’t mind a bit of Beyoncé, here…

After hundreds of thousands of views, though, Khan followed that up with a thoughtful post about perceived “masculinity:”

Beyoncé, Masculinity and Mental Health

If you guys watched my Beyoncé video yesterday, I would love you to take a moment out of your day and read the following.

Yesterday I reposted a video of myself dancing to Beyoncé and at the time of writing it, it’s been watched over 1.5 million times.

It’s also been Shared a bunch and even made its way on to TV haha.

I reposted my video after seeing Channing Tatum’s lip sync battle with his wife in which he dressed in drag and danced to a Beyoncé song and the interwebs went wild.

I posted my video for fun obviously, but also because l think the way the public reacted reflects a pretty cool shift in preconceived notions of masculinity and think that’s grounds for starting some more positive conversations about what it means to be “a man”.

A well known male celebrity goes on national television, dresses in drag and dances to a girls song and the world embraces it with open arms.

I post a video dancing and it too gets plenty of positive attention, showing a shift in the way society views masculinity or what is acceptable for a man to do or say.

But how far does that acceptance go?

If myself or Channing Tatum were openly gay and did the same thing would people still applaud it?

There’s still so many stigmatic ideas around masculinity and blokes face very real issues in terms of dealing with what society has deemed as appropriate behaviour for their sex.

Did you know that suicide is the leading cause of death for males aged between 15-44?

How about that the rate of suicide in men is almost triple women?

As someone who has personal experience with mental health issues, I know how difficult it can be for a man to seek help for something that is often brushed off as “just being a pussy” or a “soft cock”.

If society can have a good laugh and accept a man dressing up and / or dancing like a woman these days, how hard is it to have a chat to your mates about something like mental illness.

Just as its ok for blokes to dance, it’s ok for them to battle mentally and emotionally sometimes too.

If a bunch of people can watch a 25 second video, surely they can also spare the time to ask one of their mates if everything is ok.

New York Daily News: “Drop Dead Ted”

Sen. Ted Cruz thought he had found a good attack line against Donald Trump by recently calling out Trump’s “New York values” to crowds in Iowa. Trust and believe, he meant it as a slander.

But when it came up last night at the latest GOP presidential debate, Trump skillfully turned the tables telling Cruz it was very “insulting” to the people of New York who bravely face the events of 9/11.

Cruz: “Everybody understands that the values in New York City are socially liberal and pro-abortion and pro-gay marriage. And focus on money and the media.”

Trump (speaking about 9/11): “Everyone in the world loved New York, and loved New Yorkers; and I have to tell you, that was a very insulting statement.”

The New York Daily News put their thoughts on the cover of today’s paper as you can see above.

Columnist Mike Lupica wrote, “Ted Cruz, who only comes here with his hand out, has decided that the most diverse city the world has ever known is filled with people who all think alike. He sounds in these moments like as slow a thinker as we have ever had run for President.”

“Here is what New York values are: New York values are a young guy, a paralegal, literally giving somebody he doesn’t know the shirt off his back on a subway because winter has finally come to the city and brought freezing temperatures with it. New York values are the New York taxi driver who traveled three boroughs across four days to find the guy who had left $1,400 in his cab, so he could return the money to him. You know what that really was? It was the real life of a city that Ted Cruz knows nothing about. He is simply another tourist here, one constantly on the make.”

Anti-Gay Ted Shoebat Would Send SWAT Teams In To “Rescue” Children Of Same-Sex Couples

In this video, raging anti-gay “Christian” activist Ted Shoebat declares that all “dykes are criminals” and wants to see SWAT teams raid the homes of gay couple and seize their children.

“I believe sincerely within my heart if you have two dykes or two faggots who have children, those children are in an immense amount of danger. They are in danger of being raped, they are in danger of being molested, they are in danger of being assaulted, murdered, killed. And for the good of that child, the state needs to bust open the doors of those sodomites and confiscate those children. I really believe that within myself.

“If I had the power, I would send the SWAT team or the National Guard and I would say, ‘Guys, there are the homes that we know for a fact have two fags and they have a child with them. Go in there, you arrest those two faggots and you take that child.’

“And the SWAT team would go in there, bust the door open, arrest the two faggots like the terrorists they are, and save that child from this tyranny. Because that’s what this is, this is tyranny.”

Word Salad: Michele Bachmann On The Hate Crimes Act

“It’s political correctness that rules the day. So when you’re part of a favored group, then you get special benefits that nobody else gets. That’s the very form of tyranny because when government supposedly gives something — government has nothing to give, they have to take it away from other people. So when they give it to that certain group, that means, by definition, they’re taking it away from you.”

Donald Trump Now Has “Freedom Girls” Cheerleaders

Salon points up Donald Trump’s new “official jam” to be performed at his rallies.

Wait. Wait….

A capacity crowd of 10,000 packed into the Pensacola Bay Center Wednesday night for Donald Trump’s latest stop in the Sunshine state and were treated to a patriotic, bubble gum pop trio sensation delivering the campaign’s new “official jam.”

R.E.M. may not want The Donald featuring their music during his massive rallies, but three young members of the Freedom Kids offered the Republican presidential frontrunner a catchy, personalized song to set-off his often rambunctious rallies.

“Cowardiiiiiiiice,” the adorable tikes begin. “Are you serious?” a pint-sized voice asks. “Apologies for freedom? I can’t handle this.”

“When freedom rings answer the call!” the girls implore while acting out the song’s lyrics in American flag adorned ensembles. “On your feet, stand up tall!”

“Enemies of freedom face the music, come on boys take ’em down/President Donald Trump knows how to make America great/Deal from strength or get crushed every time!”

David Bowie’s Final Album Blackstar Could Debut At #1

According to Billboard, David Bowie’s final album – released on his 69th birthday just days before he passed away – could be his first #1 on the Billboard 200.

The set, which was released through ISO/Columbia Records on Jan. 8 (Bowie’s 69th birthday), could sell perhaps 130,000 albums in the week ending Jan. 14, according to industry forecasters, and debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart dated Jan. 30. Bowie died on Jan. 10 after an 18-month battle with cancer.

In his lifetime, Bowie charted seven top 10 albums on the Billboard 200. His highest-charting album was his last album, 2013’s The Next Day, which debuted and peaked at No. 2. He previously visited the top 10 with Let’s Dance (No. 4 in 1983), ChangesOneBowie (No. 10, 1976), Station to Station (No. 3, 1976), Young Americans (No. 9, 1975), David Live (No. 8, 1974) and Diamond Dogs (No. 5, 1974).

It’s telling that the lead single for the album, “Lazurus,” begins with the lyric “Look up here! I’m in heaven.”

FIFA Fines Five Countries Over Anti-Gay Chants

FIFA fined Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay on Wednesday for anti-gay chants by their national team’s fans.

The “insulting and discriminatory chants” came during qualifying matches for the 2018 World Cup, FIFA said.

Chile’s fine is the biggest at 70,000 Swiss francs ($70,000) over cases at four different matches. The governing body imposed fines of 20,000 Swiss francs ($20,000) on Argentina, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay. Proceedings continue against Honduras for what FIFA described as “apparent homophobic chants by its supporters.”

The fines were imposed despite FIFA for several years insisting that financial sanctions alone were not enough for discriminatory cases.
