Bernie Sanders, Donald Trump Win West Virginia Primaries

As expected, presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump won his primary in West Virginia. Trump also easily won the Republican primary in Nebraska on Tuesday, with no challengers left on the field.

Bernie Sanders won the Democratic primary in West Virginia.

At this writing, it looks like Sanders will notch a victory in the neighborhood of +10 points, which means the delegate math between him and Hillary Clinton (who currently has a delegate lead of about 295) won’t change by more than a handful – possibly a 5-8 net gain for Sanders.

Nick Jonas Covers OUT Magazine

Hottie and current “It Boy” Nick Jonas covers the June/July 2016 issue of OUT Magazine, and inside chats on his burgeoning acting career, his upcoming solo album, Last Year Was Complicated, and the constant accusations of gay baiting.

From the interview with Chadwick Moore:

On the accusations of courting the LGBT community and working both the LGBT press and New York City’s gay club circuit:
The accusations of gay baiting and opportunism have left Jonas a bit wounded. “It’s not the majority, but a large handful have a negative opinion for whatever reason,” he says, “and I think it’s really quite sad.”

On “Nate,” his queer character on television series Kingdom, who is grappling with masculinity and a conservative family:
“It’s been a great character to play,” says Jonas, “One that I try to be respectful of and take myself out of. He’s on his own path.” To prepare for the part, he spoke to some of his closest friends, some of whom were raised in conservative families about their coming-out experiences. “It was a good way to research,” says Jonas, “to kind of build the character with some elements of real life.”

On having his romantic life in the public eye and being dissected by the media:
“It definitely sucks. It sort of feels like, on top of dealing with the situation with the person, you have to be thinking about other people’s opinion about it, and without all the information.” When he was younger (and still a Jonas Brother), he found this attention rather creepy. “The fact that people were intrigued by a 14 – or 15-year-old’s relationships was strange to me,” he says. “Now I think it makes a bit more sense. I think it’s kind of amusing, people’s interests. But it’s funny, because I think I live a pretty low-key life.”

North Carolina Lawmakers Introduce Bill To Replace HB2 With Comprehensive LGBT Protections

The Human Rights Campaign, via press release, shares the news that four North Carolina state Representatives introduced legislation today that would repeal anti-LGBT law HB2 and provide comprehensive LGBT non-discrimination protections.

Today, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organization, commended North Carolina Representatives Chris Sgro, Pricey Harrison, Susan Fisher, and Kelly Alexander for introducing a comprehensive LGBT non-discrimination bill in the North Carolina General Assembly. This bill would be a companion to HB 946, sponsored by Representatives Jackson, Meyer, Hamilton and G. Martin, and SB 784, sponsored by Senators Van Duyn, J. Jackson, and Woodard.

“We have always known, and come to understand even more urgently during the HB2 debate, the incredible need for non-discrimination protections for LGBT and other North Carolinians,” said Representative Chris Sgro, one of the sponsors of the legislation. “This bill, along with the repeal of HB2, is the important next step that this General Assembly and Governor McCrory must take in order to make North Carolina a true state of equality and help heal our national reputation.”

The non-discrimination bill introduced today comes after Gov. Pat McCrory said on Fox News’ “On the Record” that he did not believe that companies should be able to fire someone because of who they are or whom they love. Not only does North Carolina lack such explicit statewide LGBT non-discrimination protections, but among other things, HB2 also eliminated the ability of North Carolinians to be able to sue if they experienced discrimination in the workforce, including on the basis of race, religion, national origin and sex.

New Music Video: Pink “Just Like Fire”

Pink drops her new song “Just Like Fire” from the soundtrack of the upcoming Alice Through the Looking Glass, and it’s a high-flying, visually vibrant tea party.

NewNowNext recaps the music video:

The artist displays her impressive aerial silk skills, plays a riveting game of human chess and drinks tea with the Mad Hatter, all while singing about the importance of loving and accepting one’s self fully, even if others think you’re mad.

In typical Pink fashion, the video is energetic and thrilling, especially when her husband, played by real life hubby Carey Hart, decides it’s time to send her off to an institution after her own special trip through the looking glass.

Dan Savage Talks LGBT Rights & Presidential Politics With Stephen Colbert

Radio show host/columnist Dan Savage explains to Stephen Colbert that while gay marriage is fully legal in the United States, we still have a long way to go (employment discrimination, transgender discrimination,

Savage also explains why “LGBT” keeps getting longer and longer – “LGBTQIA etc….”

Plus – comparing Trump to Hillary on gay issues, he tells us why we shouldn’t hate on politicians who finally come around to the right way of thinking.

“She wasn’t always good on gay marriage, but neither was Barack Obama…When you go to somebody, go to a politician, and you say, ‘Please change your mind,’ when they change their mind, you don’t then spend the rest of their lives going, ‘F*ck you for not changing your mind sooner!’ You say, ‘Welcome to the right side of this issue, we’re glad to have you.’”
