Rick Santorum: Democratic Party is about “homosexuality”

During a 2008 “Press & People of Faith in Politics” forum, Rick Santorum described the Democratic Party as “the party of Woodstock.”

Asked to name a couple of words he’d heard attached to religion and politics in his years in the Senate, Santorum listed “moderate,” “ultra-conservative,” “liberal,” and “zealous” before launching into a full-on tirade against Democrats:

“Woodstock is the great American orgy. This is who the Democratic Party has become. They have become the party of Woodstock. The prey upon our most basic primal lusts, and that’s sex. And the whole abortion culture, it’s not about life. It’s about sexual freedom. That’s what it’s about. Homosexuality. It’s about sexual freedom.”

Of course, Santorum will position Republicans as the “anti-homosexuality” party if he wins the nomination, and has pledged to to annul all same-sex marriages and personally campaign in every state against marriage equality.

Mitt Romney loves everything in Michigan

I love the trees – they’re the right height.

I love the lakes – big and small.

I love cars.

I love cars.

I love cars.

This performance is called pandering.  Pandering to the people of Michigan, specifically.

Remember, Mitt Romney said he would have let the auto industry go bankrupt. He has clearly said he wouldn’t have saved those American jobs.

Recently, Michigan Rep. Fred Upton (R) noted that without the rescue, Michigan “would have hit 40 percent unemployment rates.”

What do you think of a “president” who would choose to allow thousands and thousands of American jobs to disappear when they could be saved?

How would you feel about a “president” who would let YOUR job disappear when it could be saved?

Joe Manganiello in OUT Magazine

Joe Manganiello featured in OUT Magazine! Not only IN it but on the cover!

In the interview Joe talks about growing up, True Blood and his upcoming movie Magic Mike. Here’s a bit about the Magic Mike movie:

The strippers in Magic Mike are more the types that shake it Chippendales style for bachelorettes than gyrating go-go boys at your local gay watering hole. “This is Chan’s experience,” Manganiello says of the homoerotic, yet hetero-themed, flick.

Manganiello interviewed a former male stripper to research the era. “All the guys he worked with were dead or in rehab,” he says, “but it was the time of his life — this insanely destructive lifestyle, this club life. It was sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll… and getting paid to take your clothes off and have sex.”

When asked if he stuffed his movie G-string he just says “Um, I’ll let everybody see the movie and they can decide,” he says sheepishly.

Maryland: Senate Judicial committee passes marriage equality

The Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee voted on Tuesday in favor of a gay marriage bill, moving Maryland along the path toward legalizing same-sex nuptials.

The committee voted 7 to 4 in favor of the bill – supported by Governor Martin O’Malley – and the full Senate was expected to vote later in the week.

The bill was approved last week by the House of Delegates.

Prop 8 backers to ask 9th Circuit for larger panel ruling

The proponents of Proposition 8 intend to appeal for an en banc ruling from the full Ninth Circuit Court. Earlier this month a three-judge panel of Ninth Circuit members voted to uphold the overturn of Prop 8.  Now the haters want MORE 9th Circuit judges to hear an appeal.

Chris Geidner explains at Metro Weekly:

Usually, en banc review involves all of the active judges on the court, but the Ninth Circuit — due to the more than 20 active judges on the circuit — has adopted a unique “limited en banc” procedure in which all the active Ninth Circuit judges vote whether en banc consideration will be given. That will be the request made by today’s filing.

If a majority of the court supports en banc consideration, then the chief judge of the circuit, Judge Alex Kozinski, and 10 randomly selected appellate judges from the circuit will hear the en banc appeal, which can involve briefing and oral arguments.

After that decision is reached, theoretically, a party dissatisfied with an en banc ruling of the Ninth Circuit can ask for the full Ninth Circuit to review the en banc panel’s decision, but the court has not agreed to do so since adopting the “limited en banc” procedure.

The never ending saga continues…

Nick Jonas and Delta Goodrem split up

Apparently Delta Goodrem and Nick Jonas have ended their relationship. Distance and careers were the issues that probably contributed here. Delta is a judge on the Aussie version of THE VOICE and Nick is on Broadway starring in “How To Succeed…”

“Nick and Delta have decided to mutually end their relationship. At this point in time, they are both focused on their careers as they go on different paths. They remain friends and wish each other the best for the future.”

I hope the best for both. I know Delta and I think she’s amazing.

Meanwhile, Nick will be continuing his star turn on Broadway. As a matter of fact, Nick will soon be featured in an EP of music from HOW TO SUCCEED in which he is currently starring as J. Pierrepont Finch. The EP is due out this spring, and will be produced by six-time Grammy nominee Robert Sher who produced the Grammy nominated cast album featuring Daniel Radcliffe and John Larroquette.
