In honor of this year’s International Pronouns Day, Lyft will be donating $50,000 to both the Human Rights Campaign and the National Center for Transgender Equality. The funds will be used to build on Lyft ride grants alongside HRC’s Transgender Justice Initiative to twenty community based organizations serving the LGBTQ community, with a focus on trans women of color. Additionally, Lyft launched an awareness campaign in partnership with several LGBTQ+ artists to celebrate International Pronouns Day (October 20 this year).
“I decided to create a feminine expression of the He/Him pronoun. As a queer Asian man, the conversation about masculinity and femininity is always around me. I wanted to create something that’s very personal to me but also goes against the gender stereotype.”
The campaign also includes short films with a few of the artists, discussing their designs and telling their own stories, which you can view below.
