Out recording stars Ty Herndon and Michael Passons (founding member of the multi-platinum Christian pop group Avalon) drop the Dave Audé remix of their powerful new reimagining of the 1997 anthem, “Testify to Love.”
Originally a career-defining hit for Avalon, “Testify to Love” spent months atop the charts and became one of the most recognizable songs in the history of Contemporary Christian Music (CCM).
But in 2003, Passons left the group telling the public he intended to pursue a solo career. Years later, he revealed he’d been ousted by the band for being gay. More details here.
This 2026 version strips away the barriers of the past, reuniting Passons with fellow former Avalon member Melissa Greene, who is featured on the track, to deliver a vocal performance that celebrates authenticity, faith, and inclusion.
Without changing a word of the song, having two out gay artists deliver these lyrics adds a clear message of inclusivity. You’ll note the first line of the song – “All the colors of the rainbow…”
And just in case some folks don’t get it, the video ends with the text, “God’s love is for everyone. No exceptions.”
Dave Audé takes the new version to another level in his signature style swapping in choruses of Madonna’s iconic “Like A Prayer.”
Definitely Pride Music material.
