Wendy Williams Documentary To Air On Lifetime This Weekend

A court-appointed guardian for former talk show host Wendy Williams sought a restraining order to stop the Lifetime Channel from airing a documentary on Williams scheduled for this weekend. But a New York appeals court judge ruled the show will go on. From Deadline:

Appellate Justice Peter Moulton wrote that a temporary restraining order would be an “impermissible prior restraint on speech that violates the First Amendment of the Constitution.” His decision vacated an order signed ex parte.

A spokesperson for Lifetime said, “Lifetime appeared in court today, and the documentary Where is Wendy Williams? will air this weekend as planned.”

Representatives for Williams revealed on Thursday that she has been diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia. Where Is Wendy Williams? is scheduled to air on Lifetime Saturday and Sunday. ABC News aired this report today about the genesis of the new documentary (for which Wendy herself is an executive producer). Something about the niece seems ‘off’ to me… https://youtu.be/OYjUKn3WXlw?si=B9hd-N-qMI33peG2
