X Officially Updates Rules To Allow Porn

X (formerly Twitter) has officially updated its rules to allow porn on the social media platform. This is something of a head-scratcher to some, as full-on “adult content” has appeared on X for years. But now, it appears X is officially thumbs-up on porn, having added clauses to its Adult Content Rules.

Via TechCrunch:

Users can now post consensually produced NSFW content as long as it is prominently labeled as such. The new rules also cover AI-generated videos and images.

“We believe that users should be able to create, distribute, and consume material related to sexual themes as long as it is consensually produced and distributed. Sexual expression, visual or written, can be a legitimate form of artistic expression,” X’s page on “adult content” policies reads.

“We believe in the autonomy of adults to engage with and create content that reflects their own beliefs, desires, and experiences, including those related to sexuality. We balance this freedom by restricting exposure to Adult Content for children or adult users who choose not to see it,” the page reads.

Some folks think this may be X CEO Elon Musk setting the groundwork to try and compete with other subscription-based adult content platforms like OnlyFans.
