Whoa. Cassidy Hutchinson, an aide to Mark Meadows, then-Chief of Staff to Donald Trump, testified today that Trump demanded to be taken to Capitol after the January 6 rally. When he was told no, that there weren’t enough assets to ensure Trump’s safety, he reportedly had a “very strong, very angry response.”
As related to Hutchinson, Trump reportedly tried to grab the steering wheel from a Secret Service agent.
“I’m the f-ing president, take me up to the Capitol now,” Trump said, Hutchinson testified, adding that the former president then reached for the steering wheel of the presidential vehicle known as “The Beast.” He also reached for a Secret Service member’s throat.
