New York City local TV station PIX11 aired this terrific half-hour news special last night celebrating Pride Month in NYC.
Emmy winner Geovany Dias does a terrific job hosting the special from in front of the iconic Stonewall Inn covering the continuing fight for acceptance and the celebration of how far the LGBTQ+ community has come.
But what really captured my attention was how straight-forward — and to use a word I hate — “normal” the stories were presented.
From the report on the Pride flag flying over the National Stonewall Monument again to local queer sports leagues thriving in NYC to LGBTQ+ senior centers in Harlem providing older queer folks a place to belong, I found the entire special completely charming.
Watch below and let me know if you get the same warm vibe as I did.
