Some news items I thought worth your time:
• Them: Two years ago, Utah lawmakers commissioned their own study into gender-affirming care for trans youth. But now, after the resulting report concluded that trans healthcare bans “cannot be justified,” state Republican lawmakers were all too eager to dismiss the health department’s findings.
• Caftan Chronicles: Tim Murphy chats with Erik Piepenburg, author of Dining Out, which serves up an affectionate tour of queer eateries of yore as well as the ones that have survived.
• KRON4: Two 13-year-old boys are in custody for allegedly yelling homophobic slurs while throwing fireworks into a crowd at a Pride event in Redwood City Wednesday night that injured two adults.
• NBC News: Donald Trump says he has no desire to repair his relationship with former ‘First Buddy’ Elon Musk following their spectacular falling out this week. The Donald added he has no plans to speak with Musk anytime soon.
• New Music: Micah McLaurin teamed up with chart-topping DJ and producer duo Until Dawn for the just-released Pride Dance Remix of “Satisfied” – out now just in time to celebrate Pride Month.
• JoeMyGod: Louisiana lawmakers have passed a bill banning “chemtrails” – those long, white lines in the sky trailing behind jets. Why? Conspiracy theorists and other fringe people believe they are released to “control the weather” or “control people’s thoughts.” #smh
