Two Men Shot Dead Outside A Gay Bar In Slovakia

An 18-year-old man in Jamaica is in critical condition after being ambushed in a fake dating app hookup where he was robbed, had his penis partially severed and set on fire.

Two men were shot dead outside a gay bar in Bratislava, the capitol of Slovakia, by a young male described as a “radicalized teenager” by Prime Minister Eduard Heger.

The shooting happened on Wednesday outside the Teplaren bar and police said they found the gunman dead at another location on Thursday.

“Two people were murdered just because they were part of the LGBTI community,” Heger said. “This is unacceptable,” he told reporters, adding: “In a free and democratic country, homosexuals have a right to live freely.”

On Twitter, Heger described the shooter as a “radicalised teenager”.

Local media identified him as 19-year-old Juraj Krajcik, the son of a prominent member of the far-right Vlast party.

According to the BBC,  a third person, believed to be an employee of the bar, was also wounded in the attack. He’s reported to be recovering in the hospital.

Police say the suspected gunman was found dead on Thursday morning. While no motive has been made public, local media reported that he had written social media posts indicating that he held views against LGBT and Jewish people.

The apparent hate crime sparked renewed calls for an end to homophobia in Slovakia, a relatively conservative EU country where same-sex marriage is not permitted.

President Zuzana Caputova called on the country’s politicians to stop spreading hate.

The suspect reportedly posted photos from in front of the bar on social media in the past few weeks. You’ll also notice his use of the white supremacy hand signal in one photo.
