Some music trivia for you — 51 years ago today, Olivia Newton-John’s country/pop album Have You Never Been Mellow was in the middle of a major run at #1 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart.
At that point, just 154 days had passed since she had previously topped that chart with her massive cross-over album, If You Love Me, Let Me Know.
Hitting #1 again in April 1975 marked the shortest gap between new #1 albums for a female artist — a record Olivia would hold for 45 years.

At the 1976 American Music Awards, Have You Never Been Mellow scored the trophy for “Favorite Pop/Rock Album,” beating out major artists including the Eagles and Elton John.
