Newly-released documents from the $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit filed against Fox News by Dominion Voting System shows Fox host Tucker Carlson texted another Fox employee two months after the January 6 insurrection, expressing his deep loathing of Donald Trump.
From the Washington Post:
Two days before Jan. 6, Carlson texted someone, “We are very, very close to being able to ignore Trump most nights. I truly can’t wait.”
He added, “I hate him passionately,” and then, of Trump’s four years in office: “We’re all pretending we’ve got a lot to show for it, because admitting what a disaster it’s been is too tough to digest. But come on. There really isn’t an upside to Trump.”
Also in the texts and emails released today: Fox Corp. Chairman Rupert Murdoch emailed Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott that the right-leaning network was “Still getting mud thrown at us! … Maybe Sean [Hannity] and Laura [Ingraham] went too far.”
