Tucker Carlson Claims Pete Buttigieg Is “Not Gay”

Fired Fox News host-turned-independent political pundit Tucker Carlson recently told his listeners that out Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is just “supposedly gay.” From the Washington Examiner:

In a recent episode of his show, Carlson referred to Buttigieg as “supposedly gay.” He went on to recount how one of his producers, who is gay, told him that Buttigieg “is not gay.” Carlson says he believes his producer because “gays all keep close track of that stuff.”

“My producer goes, ‘It’s totally a pose. He was dating women just a few years ago. It’s totally fake. He’s not gay at all,’” Carlson adds. “So, I said that on the air and people got all offended. I thought it was kind of hilarious.”

As we all know, Buttigieg – who came out in 2015 at the age of 37 – has been married to his husband Chasten since 2018. They have two children. The former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, first came to the national spotlight in late 2018 when he began considering a run for the Democratic presidential nomination. He did jump in the race, but later dropped out and endorsed Joe Biden. Once in office, Biden nominated Buttigieg for Transportation Secretary becoming the first out gay Cabinet member to be approved by the Senate. This is a quite the U-turn for Carlson who, in the past, has called Buttigieg “effeminate” and mocked him for “breastfeeding” his adopted twins.
