It was quite the night at the Trump-a-pahloser event in Dallas last night where the Donald has gotten so concernstipated about the midterm elections he offered a $5K “dividend” check to every adult citizen in the United States of America if Republicans retain control of the House and Senate.
Note: the U.S. is $40 trillion in debt. Sending $5,000 checks to every adult would cost around $1.3 trillion — more than the entire federal discretionary budget for 2026, and equivalent to about ten years of revenues from the tariffs that Trump has put in place.
Trump previously promised cash payouts of $5,000 to each American from money saved by DOGE, and a proposed $2,000 “tariff rebate.”
None of that ever happened.

The Washington Sun is reporting key Republicans were “blindsided” by Trump’s call for $5,000 checks.

Other “highlights” from the night included Sen. Tim Scott giving a completely unhinged speech, and Treasury Sec. Scott Bessent laughably claiming Trump “refuses to sleep.”
