During an event honoring emergency personnel who perished during the September 11 attacks, Donald Trump continued to add to his ever-evolving account of his actions that day in New York City.
Today he claimed he was basically pulled out of the rubble while his employees were at Ground Zero helping.
“Two fireman, big strong guys, they grabbed me under the arms — ‘got to get our of here!’ — and they literally lifted me up, and they started running with me.”
In fact, Trump was on TV that day bragging about having the tallest building in downtown Manhattan after the Twin Towers fell.
Trump on 9/11: “I just thank my people. I was building a big building in New York and I took the whole crew down there right after this happened and they had no hesitation. Everybody went down with me. We went down as a big group of people … we thought it was coming down on top… pic.twitter.com/Aw7dWieD0L

From the New York Times:
He [Trump] said that he was watching television the morning of the attacks and that he later took a construction crew with him to the site — a claim that has been disputed by a biographer and former police officials.
He said that he had seen “an unbelievable mass of steel and, unfortunately, bodies and everything you can imagine.”
Today he described how two large firefighters picked him up and took him to safety when he observed an unstable building sometime after the attacks.
Again, officials at the scene at the time have said that Trump was not involved in recovery or response operations.
Trump’s entire psychology is a never-ending stream of self-aggrandizing lies. He resents the excellence of others.
I imagine Trump was also there with the Avengers when Loki attacked NYC.
